A lunar eclipse above the Space Needle

Since we didn't get to see the most recent lunar eclipse here in W Washington, here is a photo from one last year:

They had just opened this stretch a couple months beforehand. I remember driving by it often while they were cleaning it up. Then they had to regrade and reinforce the hillside. This was a couple of miles from Pico Rivera, right before you drop down into Whittier

I was reminded of this time when we brought our memory care residents out to meet Gobi. What an experience this was for them! And I will be forever grateful to Gobi's owners for their kindness and generosity.

This happened in late January/early February 1969 on the Pomona Freeway (CA 60) east of Los Angeles after heavy rains. I used to live less than 5 miles from where this happened.

Can you imagine being the guy in the car that got swept aside in this? He was uninjured, BTW
