We killed 85 schoolgirls. We are not the good guys.
Congress must return immediately and vote to put an end to this war.
Every Senator should be on the recordβthe American people deserve to know which of their leaders supports another potentially bloody and costly war in the Middle East.
No war with Iran.
We need more housing for all of our new neighbors!!
BREAKING: We're suing Kansas for a law that invalidates transgender people's updated driver's licenses and authorizes anyone to sue anyone they suspect of being trans for using the "wrong" bathroom.
This is a dark day. The situation in Kansas is dangerous and terrifying. But, this isnβt just a Kansas issue. We are seeing a coordinated, nationwide assault on trans lives.
To every trans person reading this: you are seen, you are loved, and you are worth fighting for. We will not stop.

Thank you Tukwila City Council for taking this important step!
City of Seattle next on 3/3!
I think this means my bill to put a moratorium on new/expanded detention centers and jails is AOC approved!
Council is voting on this 3/3.

A new proposal from @council.seattle.gov's @alexis4seattle.bsky.social would ban building new jail units for a year. "Immigration" isn't mentioned in the bill, but as @kromandavid.bsky.social explains, it's definitely intended as a check against ICE. Full show: www.buzzsprout.com/798857/episo...
The article shares the following: βThe report documents a laundry list of horrifying conditions, including violations of constitutional due process rights, overcrowding, inadequate emergency medical care, inhuman and degrading treatment by guards, insufficient and poor quality of food, and more.β
βConditions are substandard, and are not even in compliance with the National Detention Standards, much less international human rights law,β the report reads.
We need to be clear about what this place is: a concentration camp.
Last night, two community members were hit by drivers in two separate instances while walking in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. We have since learned that one of them has passed away. This is devastating, and my heart is with these community members, their friends, and their families.
Seattle lawmaker Alexis Mercedes Rinck wants to ban new detention centers, jails

The Mosquito Fleet Act is on the House floor right now!
I think Iβm finally going to do it. What games should I play?
Thank you!!
Great question! This kind of legislation has a multiplier impact with more cities that pass this. City of Seatac took action this week already to pass a moratorium, and we are going to meet with and advocate to cities across the region to pass something like this. We are starting that outreach now!

H.R. 1 dedicated $45 BILLION to detention center expansion and we know that ICE/DHS is ACTIVELY trying to expand their detention capacity in the Seattle area.
Thatβs why I just introduced emergency legislation to institute a citywide moratorium to stop new or expanded detention centers in Seattle.
Seattle CM Rinck is introducing legislation that will prohibit all new and expanded jails and detention centers in Seattle for the period of one year.
BREAKING: Our local lawmakers are hustling on measured that would impede ICE this week. I talked to Councilmember Rinck and Port Commissioner Hasegawa about their newest policies. www.thestranger.com/news/2026/02...
