The SMouse addons are a timesaver for lighting fr, caustics with their shaders are way simpler even if they're not technically 100% accurate, and the IES light profiles I wish were just built into Blender, but still a good compromise

Just need to fix the mapping. If anyone knows how to map a shader on essentially what looks like a 2D plane, with Z-height control, but using the world shader, instead of just squashing down the worlds Z axis uv, that would be insanely appreciated! 😭🙏

I have huge respect for people contributing to open-source in gamedev and dcc and making public domain assets. The creative freedom we have today was just unimaginable when everything was paywalled or kept proprietary. Now more people have tools to express their ideas and own their work. Thats big 👏

Not even kidding, I'm actively working on making a PZ clone JUST so I can actually enjoy the game. I've tried playing it on and off a dozen times and I just can't (because of the controls and mechanics), but I sooo want to be able to! 😭
Quick blender mapping tip: if you enable edge lengths in the viewport you can quickly eyeball the appropriate number of steps when beveling stairs with Ctrl+B
Google says a step should be no higher than 0.2m and no shorter than 0.25m. Doesnt need to be precise but can help make it look believable
Real will always look better, but we get closer every day ;)
