was there music playing in the room as you drifted off? "All Things Must Pass" in my case - felt right.

assuming a D victory and sufficient political capital / will / wisdom /expertise to undertake such a campaign. these assumptions are sadly not supported by evidence yet.
what are your thoughts on Carnival of Light? i can't imagine wanting to listen to it more than once...
les mots - c'est qui?
you can still hear glimpses of the Fabs even they they are mostly evolved away from that. I'm thinking of the admittedly cancel-worthy Getting Better, even Lucy (especially heard in conjunction with the earlier version released on the '17 SDE). But then these things are all so subjective...
Paul's contributions on MMT are, imo, superior than his writing for Pepper (again, the US version, which include Fool on the Hill, Penny Lane, Hello Goodbye). As for Pepper, dated though it may sound, A Day in the Life alone carries a lot of weight. I also love the transitional nature of it -
Fascinating. I also grew up in the era of "PEPPER IS THE GREATEST SINGLE ACHIEVEMENT IN HUMAN HISTORY" which is of course hyperbole. I do think it sounds dated. And I think that MMT (the US version that I grew up with) is indeed the better psychedelic album, mostly because...
@andrewhickey.500songs.com I'm probably taking you too literally (right?!?) but do you really mean that there are 10 other Beatles albums you prefer to Pepper? They released only 12 in all!
not a lawyer, so what do i know? but not all felonies are equal, right? is it possible that a guilty verdict might have included a prohibition from running? i think that's a feature of an impeachment conviction, right?

@preetbharara.bsky.social also interesting to me that neither the word "Clinton" nor the word "Carter" was spoken in your discussion. He did mention the durability of the peace with Jordan and Egypt, but in a brief aside at the end of the talk. I'm a fan, Preet - but this was too partisan for me.
@preetbharara.bsky.social just to be clear, according to Dan Senor, American Jews (like me!) who are critical of Israel during the war aren't real Jews (we've "disconnected from Judaism" is how he put it), he blames the media for over-reporting us, and he questions our love of America. Got it.
Amidst all the deserved sense of accomplishment that JK was reinstated, it's worth noting that Sinclair is still not airing his show. His cancelling wasn't entirely unsuccessful.
didn't soldiers in WWII write messages on bombs?
Thom Yorke playing acoustic guitar with Radiohead at Madison Square Garden in New York City, July 2018. Colin Greenwood plays bass and Phil Selway plays drums in the background.
already failed, my friend. you may recall a certain 9-0 SCOTUS decision from last year re: 14th amendment. but of course we must still resist!
bootLACE, surely...
1. Hey Jude
2. A Prayer for Owen Meany
3. Midnight Run
4. A hot cup of green tea on a cold winter morning
5. a delicious meal with an old friend you haven't seen in too long
@preetbharara.bsky.social re: your convo w Tom Nichols, I respectfully disagree - DJT is an imbecile. He won 2 elex because he is media savvy and is good at getting people to pay attention to him (mostly by the basest possible means). That is not the same as intelligence. The distinction matters.
I'm not sure if it's a question of his range, or being out of practice with live performances, or the ravages of massive amounts of cigarettes in the intervening years... or maybe he just needed a Paul McCartney or a George Martin to advise him.
Still and all, more is better than less...
ok, i'll be that guy: granted that more material is better than less, especially when it comes to the extreme paucity of solo Lennon live performances, but for some reason they choose to do Come Together in the key of E, instead of D, as heard on Abbey Road. And John just doesn't sing it as well.
Gray Sabbath
it's all about Levon. try to block out Robbie (not easy, I know) and focus on Levon. Might help.
it's all of a piece with "if you don't test, covid numbers will go down."
these are great. thank you for posting. for me, the best ones are obscured. for example - if you had limited this one to "got the bill". including "Rita" gives it away. regardless - don't stop! i love them!
sorry - where can i find andrew's 4-hour monologue on the beatles?!?
i'm continually baffled by the lack of attention given to "Play", their best work in my opinion.
if impoundment doesn't matter and dems win the WH in '28, can't that money be used for literally anything the executive branch wants?
