I just believe if they thought about it more they could've made something more unique, at the end of the day, this argument is just opinions about a kids game. People like somethings that other don't. (also I think intelleon is one of the best designed gen 8 starters)

as especially different gekos are, and lizards as a whole, i think there are more interesting routes to take. such as the bluedragon slug, or a fire pokemon based on the stages of a star, or a grass starter based on termite colonies/mounds. something different.

thats still far more interesting then just water geko? maybe its really based on something specific? We won't know until it evolves, but as far as im concerned treeko fills that role pretty easily. (also froakie is now on that list too ig)
