In between the frown and the nose, is a small pink heart, which is my dog nose, but also the femininity in me which I had tried so hard to deny and suppress. All around me is a blue egg-like shape, with many cracks in it. In the trans community, trans people in denial are often referred to as "eggs". I definitely was one, well after I knew I was a trans woman. This drawing represents my pre-transition gender dysphoria, depression, and agony. This is what it felt like to deny my own truth. I couldn't stand to be awake nor alive, nor did I want to do anything at all. Every single thing I did was a chore, an obligation; even fun things. The days, months, and years blazed by, as I found small moments of relief from my mental hell while awake, and precious little relief in the form of sleep. Even my dreams were invaded by my NEED to become a woman. I started estrogen on June 27, 2025. 8 months later, I love life again! I like being awake and doing things! I like the changes that are happening, and I'm eagerly awaiting, and working on, future changes. I'm rebuilding my life, which went into severe disrepair through the past few years before I began estrogen. This was just a quick sketch at McDonald's. Cashing in a meal's worth of free rewards, taking time off from adulting, and drawing for pure expression and enjoyment. Happy International Women's Day! Trans women are women! I am a trans woman! I am a woman. It's gotten easier and easier to believe. Whatever you're struggling with, you can break out of it!

I think maybe ICE knocked on my door earlier today. I did not answer. They were plainclothes with badges and name tags. They drove away in an unmarked black SUV with a tinted license plate cover.
