The rules and rulesets you create don't have to answer to people who don't choose to use them. They have to answer to the people who do choose to use them.
Also I guarantee lots of people know sex workers in their social circles who just 100% are not gonna disclose that part of their life around them lmao. Ppl should be kind to swers bc it's basic decency but also bc otherwise they're absolutely disrespecting someone they know without even realizing it
plz consider buying my big book, CARTOONSHOW from @oni-press.bsky.social. Here's one of my favorite reviews: solrad.co/the-end-of-c...
Content creation in general takes a lotta emotional stamina that I think people are kinda unprepared for. Youβre gonna have some 0-viewer streams and youβre gonna have to learn to tank that. Believe it or not, persevering through a lack of feedback actually makes you a better artist/content creator
The wizards of the Seven-Part Pact are rarely prudent, in my experience. Even a seemingly benign spell like Mending can create enormous trouble in their hands, as this unfortunate soldier tells us.
Itβs important to remember that billionaires are parasites with a vested interest in persuading you they are predators.
carrie: =SIGH= in another lifetime...d'ya think we could've...made it work lyd: oh, I dunno...=TEEHEE= you're so much fun to break up with, I'd probably keep doing it for shits 'n' gigs β₯οΈ carrie: that's a rather fucked-up thing to say

I will speak of this bit for generations.
ββ¦living within the digital archive disintegrates our basic, linear perception of time...every era is equally available, &all events are potentially happening at the same time, the chain of causality &influence breaks down completely.β

HELLO??? WELCOME TO THE TEAM, FRITZI
at least theyre courteous enough to give you a heads up
In her review of Piketty, McCloskey points out that the Latin root of data is "things given," but that the documentation Piketty is working with, primarily tax records, is more accurately a reflection of "things seized." That is, not data, but capta. I want to dΓ©tournΓ© McCloskey's point to argue that capta is the appropriate title for the currencies of technofeudalism.? It is an economy which is growing increasingly inefficient, coercive, and authoritarian because the economic process it glorifies is not one of mutual consent to market exchange, but of non-consensual seizure of attention, identity, and future potential.
Iβve been trying to use capta consistently, where appropriate, and have been pleased to find, for many, no explanation is needed. It is very intuitive, as disciplinary jargon should be.

i keep seeing writers who want both:
* to be bold iconoclasts going against the pretenses and trends of the day and
* to have a perfect 5.0 review score on goodreads
and like, I'm sorry. those things don't go together.
this is my game, I Donβt Remember When I Started Killing Bugs Again. to play, you log it every time you kill an insect. this is also available as a web app @transwron.gs made with me. people tell me it changed their behavior- they think twice about hurting insects when they remember the rules.
follow her bluesky and go through her media tab, probably! idk @nonblnary.bsky.social is there a better place to find yr stuff consolidated?

This week on Dice Exploder I've got @olddog.games on talking Blades '68, Dungeon World, and "draw maps leave blanks". How much should you define about your game in advance - as a player, as a GM, as a designer? Tim's smart!
your game is a game :) im not saying simulations arent games, im talking about a different phenomenon
this happens when youre grocery shopping too
yeah this is basically what i say in the blogpost. its not very long, i'd recommend reading it!
it would be dragon's razor , which in a games context sounds more like a magic item than a philosophical tool
