And seeing how little everyone cared about the shit with Kane...not surprised. Fuck those guys. Pathetic.
I do this, too. I wish all messaging apps had the send later feature. I regularly schedule personal imessage texts to send at 8am, lol.
Juliana Stratton is the obvious pick. I hate even having to weigh in here. It's plain as day, and the frontrunner is so bad. Folks, this needs to get turned around. Like desperately. Phone bank for Stratton, talk to your friends, anything, just please, Illinois, NO.
My friend and one of the co-authors of Read This When Things Fall Apart, Stevie Wilson, will be released from prison in less than a week. Stevie has done tremendous work as an incarcerated organizer and has plans to continue doing important work on the outside. Let's help him make a new start.
Forgive my ignorance, but does that translate into a stronger CME if one does manage to escape?
I was there, too, and recorded this as people left the scene.
Hard to see in the video, but the baby in mom's arms was also crying with red eyes.
I really hope folks are listening. It's hard out here as an earnest person. Let me like things and express feelings, y'all! 😩
I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...
Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.
Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.
In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.
He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.
At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.
Wael died on Friday at age 30.
ICE caused his death.
They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Looks like Signal
A local rapid response group I work with is desperately trying to raise $5K tonight to get immediate legal representation for a group member who is facing deportation. It is crucial that these funds be raised by tomorrow. These are organizers I trust.

Tonight, I was one of more than 200 people who gathered on Chicago’s North Side to mourn Renee Nicole Good. Several people asked me to publish my remarks from the vigil, so I’m sharing them here.
Times are tough, and some of my paid subscribers have had to cancel lately due to financial hardships. I get it, and I wish for better times for us all. Unfortunately, paid subscriptions are now dipping into unsustainable territory. I am hoping to get eight new paid subscribers before the new year.
Usually I'd agree. But after two winters of getting almost no snow, I've been delighted by this sudden onslaught of winter weather. The childlike wonder and joy brought on by a snowstorm is unmatched. I'm ready for more snow and more playing! (For like, a month. And then I'll be so over it.)
My latest is a love letter to Chicago. "I see you stumbling through the stubborn, awkward rhythm of showing up, again and again. I see you fighting alongside people who sometimes frustrate and confuse you, and defending neighbors you may have never met, because you know they’re all your people."
Foggy sunrise. Dark landscape, with a blurry tree-line with lifting fog, creamy yellow light with tree silhouettes, dark band of clouds, the sun partially exposed above, cream yellow sky and clouds above.
Foggy sunrise this morning. Cascade foothills. Portland Oregon. 🩶☀️
My latest is the story of how my community has rallied to protect and defend our neighbors in recent days, as ICE has targeted the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago. "This is not a story about a moment of victory, but a moment of being reminded of our power."
ICE in Chicago detained two people (that we know of) for filming them today, a cyclist and a neighborhood rapid responder. This in addition to tear gassing another neighborhood and brandishing weapons at rapid response—both things that have also already been going on for weeks.
All charges brought against protesters at Broadview today must be dropped. When cops and agents attack crowds without provocation, they make shit up to justify their attacks (in his case, an attack waged on a cooperative crowd to produce fascist social media content). These charges must be dropped.

Downtown Chicago, today.
The little girl …
ICE Nazis in Chicago tried to kidnap a food delivery worker but my man was too fast for those slow bastards
@govpritzker.illinois.gov see, this is why we tried to tell you those other federal agencies are all trash, too. Hopefully you've seen things as they are by now, but just in case...
Feds just arrested a reporter at the ICE facility outside Chicago
As ICE continues to terrorize Chicagoland, protesters gathered this morning outside the Broadview detention center—throwing stuffed animals at DHS agents, playing music through tear gas assaults, and putting their bodies on the line to stop ICE vehicles. My latest.
