Frieren is also really really good which completely surprised me, they finally made a "video game trope inspired fantasy world" anime that isn't trash and gets the ratio of reference right. It also just has a really nice vibe and pace

It has a lot of fairly uninteresting side content and there's some padding throughout, but I've never seen a game do big dumb hype moments better. It's absolutely worth a play and worth getting through any of the less compelling aspects.
It's not a perfect game but honest Final Fantasy XVI is the only game that still immediately gets me hype every single time I think about it, it's big moments are so good literally any criticism just disappears
