This was not an uncommon tactic of theirs. Some were overt with 'go kill yourself' type things. Others thought they were being subtle and big brain manipulative. Both of which can be REALLY harmful to vulnerable people.

I was bullied on Twitter by Graham Linehan back in 2017 and I contacted his agent about it. Graham then emailed me demanding I post a public apology for doing nothing wrong and then he would take the tweet down. I said no and he took it down anyway.
He is a bully.
