Today was the first time I've made it to a #bwfc game since moving from Madrid to Tokyo. Would've been great to see a goal, but honestly just so happy to be back here.
I do, but only because I'm in a different timezone and don't want to be waiting for the final whistle into the wee hours of Sunday morning.
Even with the rain, I'm loving the cooler weather. Got soaked visiting Mount Takao for the first time today.
I'm not certain, but I think matches can be watched live pretty much anywhere outside the UK. It's when I'm back in the UK and not making it to a game that I have to resort to using a VPN.
A large square canvas with 16 different portraits of Batman arranged in a 4x4 grid. Each portrait is by a different artist, 10 of whom have signed their pieces.
Sitting here scrolling through everyone's amazing #BatmanDay art, I figured I'd share a quick photo of my "Faces of Batman" canvas signed by a bunch of the artists. I love this piece so much; I was living in Oakland when I got it and in the years since it has travelled with me to Madrid then Tokyo.
I'm not in the UK, so I'm able to watch the matches on Wanderers TV.
And here I was thinking that the scorelines I've been getting with Bolton Wanderers in my EA Sports FC 26 manager career are unrealistic. #bwfc
Saturday night sorted. #bwfc
@jeffgerstmann.com I finally got caught up on the podcast and need you to know that at least one of your listeners cares about Boulder Dash. :)
Easily one of my most-played series on Commodore 64, especially the Construction Kit.
Get in! #bwfc
You're not wrong. Today's guy might as well be working from home.
This can only get better. Right?
Not yet. I don't have access to a drive right now, but I'll be backing up these and some others I've found when I get back to Tokyo.
Press kit CD for Vib-Ribbon labeled "Press Information August 2000"
PAL retail disc copy of Vib-Ribbon for PlayStation. To the left is a folded Vib-Ribbon poster.
Vib-Ribbon music CD labeled "DJ Cam Loa Project meets Vib-Ribbon"
Sure thing!
Happy to send it your way. The exchange rate in my head is good enough that it'll buy me a few months of feeling less guilty about listening to your podcast for free.
A promotional copy of one of my favourite PlayStation games: Vib-Ribbon. The black packaging features white wireframe images of the main character's four stages of evolution. Inside but not pictured are a press kit CD, retail copy of the game, music CD, and poster.
Three Game Boys I thought were lost to time. My old silver Game Boy Pocket, purple Game Boy Color, and clear purple (Japanese) Game Boy Advance. All appear to be in good condition.
Three decades-old business cards from my former jobs at Total Control magazine, Official UK PlayStation magazine, and GameSpot.
A silver wristband and small wad of drink vouchers all featuring the logo for PlayStation game The Getaway. I guess I never made it to the party...
A few more of today's treasures:
A transparent PocketStation memory card with buttons and a small screen designed to be used with certain games on the original PlayStation. This one has its original black wrist strap with white PocketStation logos.
A custom Rubik's Cube sent out by Rockstar Games to promote Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Each of the pastel-colored faces features a different image related to the game. These include a Rockstar logo, palm tree, machine gun, razor blade, and Vice City logo.
A sealed PAL copy of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the Nintendo 64.
A PlayStation Experience media badge from ECTS 2003.
I'm not sure which makes me feel older, moving boxes around in UK storage or the treasures I've been finding in those boxes.
Loving those shades!
As fans of the Border Force TV show, my family and I were genuinely excited to start our first trip to Australia with the full Brisbane Biosecurity sniffer dog experience. Lovely Labrador picked up on the scent of oranges we'd consumed on the plane apparently.
Proverb of the day: A watched FedEx tracking page never updates. #switch2
My Switch 2 *should* be arriving in a couple of days. I look forward to karting with you. :)
Front cover of "A Song of Legends Lost" by M H Ayinde displayed on my Kobo Libra Color.
Finally getting into this fantasy epic penned by @mhayinde.bsky.social, whom I worked alongside at GameSpot UK 20-plus years ago. I'm only a couple of chapters in, but already hooked.
I was obsessively taking notes while playing, and saw credits on day 27. The randomness of the runs almost killed it for me long before that, and I know there's way more to the game that I haven't seen, but it's uninstalled now.
