Oh hey people found this again so if you haven't copped this you have about a week left to do so! IT'S SO WORTH IT but you don't have to take my word for it. Go have a look for yourself and help them get to $700k against the American Gestapo.

In spite of the many, many valid criticisms of Sean Penn you could make, at least he never felt the need to reprise the role of Spicoli as a middle aged man.

19 was Dream Scenario.

Between this, Weather Man, and The Surfer, I have to wonder if Nic has a little bit of a humiliation kink. No judgment, he just has a good few roles where he's getting abused, beat up, yelled at, hit with milkshakes, spit on etc.

Movie was pretty decent. Interesting concept

18- Gone in 60 Seconds

In my mind this was a turn off the millennium classic so it was surprising to see that it has a 25% critical score on RT. Wild. It's definitely one of the better car heist movies of the era. Great cast, too. Memphis is about a 4.5/10 on the Cage scale but has his moments.

17: National Treasure 2. A completely unnecessary sequel but still fun enough I guess. Ed Harris is always a good watch, for some reason they added Helen Mirren (this is a thing with these family adventure films: they're always adding more family.) This movie is why I know what the Resolute Desk is.

Sixteen was The Surfer and.. I dunno man. I think this movie was all right but it felt SO LONG and it was only an hour 40. I thought they were going for a very obvious and unearned "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" twist ending but then played it totally straight. Kind of a mess. Wouldn't watch again.

15 was The Unbearable Weight and it looked like Nic and Pedro were having a blast out there together. This movie really validated this entire dumb journey for me in a very meta way because of all the callbacks and references to the very filmography I'm diving into.

I liked it!

14 I just watched Into the Spider-Verse again. Is this strictly a Nic Cage movie? Nah but it was worth the watch and since he is getting a Spider Noir series, it felt relevant. Plus come on, who doesn't want an excuse to watch Into the Spider-Verse?

BTW I watched 5 movies in one day, so Cagepilled.

13 was Renfield. I dunno man. Horror Comedy is hard to do. They can't all be Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland or.. Zombieland 2. Nicholas Hoult is a super charming actor and I don't hate Awkwafina the way a lot of people do. Cage was a menacingish Dracula I guess. Gore doesn't equal quality though.

Twelve was It Could Happen To You. Cute little romcom. This movie really belongs to Rosie Perez though. This is such a good Rosie character, just a super underrated comic actress.

Go watch White Men Can't Jump.

11: Face/Off

I mean come on, it's Face/Off. Just a delectable nugget of John Woo goodness. Travolta and Cage mugging at the camera. Everything blowing up, sparks and birds flying everywhere.

I honestly think this is peak Cage. Every movie since has been chasing this high.

Number 10: Lord of War. This was a rematch for me. I just found out that they're planning a sequel to this for some reason. I'm not sure what they're gonna say in a sequel that they didn't already say.

Fuck Jared Leto forever though, I'm glad those Sierra Leonean guerrillas blasted you.

Is the only thing you know about Tupac that he was murdered and then a hologram version of him performed at Coachella years later?

Let Juno show you the wildly tumultuous life and tragic death of one of the greatest rappers ever.

And if you truly enjoy this article, tip its amazing writer!
