This is that copy of Dragon Warrior from 1989. And the rest of the games I had on hand at the time. Notice two copies of 8 and 11. DQMonsters is a spiritual sequel to DQ5, as was DQBuilders. 7 is choice and long. Heroes is a Musou series.

The series has 4 main developers, Chunsoft, Heartbeat, Level 5, Square Enix. Each era is its own input to what the series is.

8 is a great entry you should play, 5 is the best of the classics, but 11 is where you should start. It doesn't matter in the end, they are all good.
