I find Bluesky less good now as there's no algo and it's just ppl I follow. Fine, if you never want input outside your sandbox. I like being exposed to new accounts, but who post content I've liked/engaged with in the past.
fwiw, X is great now and as long as you actually like/click on things you like (and avoid shit you hate) your feed will be nothing but that stuff in no time (a day). The algo is quite responsive now. You click on art and gamedev posts or like them and it drips you more.
Drifter is next level. You will like it. I find it hard to replay 15h games myself.
I find it unacceptable you haven't played The Drifter, Lamplight City or Rosewater. I'd rectify that at once, in that order. They are all really quite good.
Best of luck Steve. I'm really sorry you have to go through all this. Crossing various things.
I guess it's a hard problem to solve. These site all need zero barrier to following people for spread right?
I waste a lot of time I guess ;) I mainly check when there are lots of emoji's in a name or whatever. Or I hover over them and see their profile. I don't get enough followers fast enough for it to be effort vs curiosity. Now that follower packs seem to be over no idea hoe to get followers here.
A common tactic on Bluesky seems to be: You get a new follower. You look at that follower and they have like 80k followers but they follow 250k people (basically everyone). Their accounts are usually just nonsense or politics (same thing really?)
Anyway I insta-block these folks when I see them.
Try the Netflix limited series The Beast in Me. Short and sweet. Really good thriller.
Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is phenomenal. Amazing. 11/10. The only knocks are that the episodes are short (30-40m or so vs 60mins) and there's only 6 episodes in season 1. Anyway, it's god tier tv and any GoT fan should be eating it up! Finale on Sunday.
Sorry man. ๐
My solution to fairly instant sleep (discovered a couple years ago) was Apple Air Pods and Spotify 8hr tracks of whatever you like (spaceship drones, waves, forests, light rain, crackling fire in a winter hut). I literally cannot recall a time in the last 2 years I wasn't asleep in 20.
I played Fallout 4 maybe 20 hours and stopped. Don't remember why. I didn't dislike it. Maybe I just moved on. I regret not finishing it.
I skipped New Vegas but played Fallout 3 through to the end. Was just burned out at that point (finished it a couple years after release) ;)
We just finished watching Fallout Season 2. Exceptional show. Great writing and plotting. We really enjoyed it and look forward to Season 3. Congrats to all involved. The show is very loyal to fans and approachable to new viewers.
Working my way through Robert A. Heinlein's "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" in audiobook form. Really enjoying it.
Ten years ago today we shipped Firewatch. I say this every anniversary but it feels both like a lifetime ago and like it was yesterday. Thank you everyone who played it back then or played it today for the first time. Thank you to everyone on the team, Iโm still so proud of what we made.
Jake, I loved Firewatch. Always made me sad there weren't more games like it. From the art style to the storytelling it was just great.
You can just build things people want to play.
Just finished the audiobook (older version) for Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. Really outstanding narration by Ethan Hawke.
So it goes.

On Google's Project Genie. #gamedev
Oh I saw endless complaining about the Genie examples as if they were intended to compete with modern day AAA. But in smaller amount, the people dumping Unity stock. I was happy to step in and buy the dip ;)

Just posting...to give you engagement. :)
"I don't know what I'm doing but it makes me happy" is a great way to approach early #gamedev. Do what makes you happy. That happiness is derived from passion and from passion you will make better things. You will figure out what you're doing along the way.
