One day I won’t have to fight for access to classes. Oh wait this is academia. We only talk about adapting to climate change, professors teaching about climate adaptation & vulnerability clearly can’t (won’t) practice what they teach. How silly of me 😅

In the meantime the gist is: a fuck ton of people are completely abandoned by society, and the fact there are so few people who give a shit about that harms both the abandoned people *and* the few people close to us trying to keep us alive with whatever clever solutions we can muster.

I can’t thank y’all enough. I’ve had chronic migraines ever since I was three after a concussion, & 3 more concussions. My neurologist has emphasized the importance of me taking extra precautions to avoid infection. Today’s day 796 of a migraine. I couldn’t imagine what more inflammation would do

Every day I grow more & more grateful for educators that take infectious diseases seriously. Just to know that my little human’s teachers understand the importance of breathing clean indoor & outdoor air gives me hope. They’re all rad & kind people, which is an added bonus. 😷

Scientists and journalists need to figure out right quick how to explain to the average person how a massive change in research indirects will impact the medical care they and their children get (eg at the local children’s hospital), the education their children will get, the price of tuition, etc.
And for all the scientists asking “what can we do?”, here’s an interesting suggestion: call your local TV stations and newspapers and tell them you’d be happy to be interviewed. if you do that, please let us know and we’ll share so others can learn.
