She loves tearing people down in the most low-blow ways I swear. Truly a miserable person. I cannot believe how many respectable people follow and re-post her. How did she earn so much clout.

Alas, looks like the screenshots I saved were mostly of her buddies on the inside who were trying to oust me. She was mostly throwing stones from the outside, questioning my professional credentials etc. Very interesting (and not surprising) to learn she’s not respected in her field.
Can confirm. I was did some organizing years back, and Chandra thought her online buddies should have gotten the (volunteer) job instead of me so she set out on a public harassment campaign to smear my competence. Whenever I see someone I respect share her posts it’s a jump scare. She’s awful.
If you haven’t spent much time around this debate then perhaps you aren’t the best judge of the common patterns in arguments people use.
Notice I didn’t say people shouldn’t be versed on gun laws, I said that people shouldn’t have to be obsessive gun hobbyists, which is an actual standard many gun fanatics hold people to.
Gun fanatics use this same logic - you can’t be taken seriously as a gun control advocate if you aren’t an obsessive hobbyist like them. Gatekeeping critique so only people who already like the thing can be deemed “serious” critics.
When people complain about scientists being “wrong” (or correct but too loud about it?) about the pandemic, they’re just advertising that they don’t understand how scientific research/critique looks. They think scientist means “person w/all the answers” and get mad when it doesn’t work like that.
“Layoffs” makes this sound more legal than it is. Feds can’t be laid off like this legally, it requires a “Reduction in Force” process which is… a whole lengthy process.
Probably because they haven’t done so well throughout the season that a late season game literally doesn’t matter. If they ever do that well, I promise you they will rest their starters. This is v v normal
A homemade soup apparently becoming “ultra processed” if you add a cube of bouillon to it really says it all.
I recommend the “blacksky: trending” feed especially, the “blacksky” one can be a bit unwieldy because there are so many people there.
No arguments on misogyny being an issue, but it’s hard to square the theory that it was THE issue in this election with the fact that incumbents lost every election worldwide in 2024 bc of anger over inflation. She actually did comparatively well in that global context.
Also very fitting time to re-listen to it. Came out right when Trump won in 2016 and I listened nonstop to it in the aftermath trying to make myself feel better.
fundamentally this is what Trump administrations are all about: the guys. there will be new guys every week. they will startle you, you'll be astounded by them, and then as quickly as they appeared they will fade into an indistinguishable mass, leaves on the forest floor.
Thank you for this. One of the only things that’s made me feel a little better today.
I think a lot of the “antivaxx” accusations come from the fact that she doesn’t just say vaccines alone are inadequate for immunocompromised people, she claims that it’s true for everyone and spreads misinformation about the danger of an infection for the average vaccinated person.
Please re read my replies where I have said the literal opposite of that.
I’ve said the literal opposite multiple times but if that’s how you’re gonna be, okay.
Running out of codes means you’ve saturated your bubble, not that this is a wildly popular site with a broad swath. Like I said, I basically don’t use Twitter any more, but that means I’ve given up communities like black Twitter that do not exist here. Many communities are simply not here.
This platform is invite-only, it’s not an actual replacement for the vast majority of people. When shitty people control important institutions or means of communication, just opting out doesn’t always work for everyone.
It’s easy to say this but there’s a pretty long history of awful people being in charge of important institutions. Opting out of every space controlled by shitty people just isn’t always an option. I’ve basically stopped using Twitter, but I’m not going to pretend anyone who hasn’t is immoral.
I mean, yes, but also I remember my repeated feeling throughout ‘20 was how impressed I was by how much people WERE willing to do. Most people I knew were isolating - maybe not perfectly but a lot. Masks everywhere. Remote learning/school. It wasn’t perfect but even perfection wouldn’t’ve eliminated
Yeah I clarified in a reply, I meant eradication was impossible not that containment was. It was definitely possible to mitigate it and people really struggled to do important things like masking and social distancing, but even if everyone did those perfectly it wouldn’t have eradicated it.
Meant to say “eradicating” not “containing” but you get the idea. Mitigation was possible, but not elimination.
Absolutely. The idea that we “gave up” on containing it is a fantasy. It was never possible to contain once it became worldwide. I get people hate accepting that they had no control over something but in this case pretending we could control it is a fantasy.
A lot of people equate having lower follower counts with being a bot rather than just lurking, it’s very strange.
Yep. I wish they would just lean away from the iconography and the chop - chiefs is a neutral enough mascot, it would be so easy to lean into, I dunno, firefighters or something lol.
They announced like 3-4 years ago that they would stop playing the song in the stadium to stop encouraging fans to do the chop, but as far as I can tell there hasn’t been a single game without the song. Not sure why they even bothered announcing that. Disappointing and embarrassing at this point.
This is probably part of it. Which would fit with how some of them also claim things like that people only like eating in restaurants so they can have people serve them and “cosplay being rich,” and… lol. Just revealing they don’t understand socializing, but with moral superiority.
That’s genuinely heartening. I do think people will eventually come around on masks being a normal and useful tool, even if it’s not something they wear daily.
