Our nation’s greatness starts in our schools, the very foundation of our democracy. My heart is heavy from the senseless and tragic gun violence, suicide, and murder that took place in our spaces for learning this week. Let’s do better, together, across our differences, for our young people.
Today’s reminder: #Diversity, #equity, & #inclusion are NOT illegal; they make education stronger & better for ALL our kids. Last month, a federal judge determined that the Trump administration can’t withhold funds & require attestations regarding “illegal DEI.” We at @all4ed.org applaud this!

I spent 10 days with a bunch of teens on a river with no internet, and I also just dropped off my one and only kid at college. I’m having a lot of big feels.
My headline? The kids are alright. They’re more than that - they’re awesome, and they give me so much heart and hope.

The Trump Administration is also *illegally* withholding $6.8 billion in education funding from our states, our schools, our kids that should have gone out today. 😡
Yesterday I attended a rally in support of our trans kids and community - Sec McMahon was at what was supposed to be a Title IX event (yay Title IX!), but it was really an anti-trans event, kicking off an anti-trans bus ride across NM (during Pride Month). We stand with ALL our kids in our schools!

When our schools - and our graduation ceremonies - become places of fear, we’ve crossed a line. We need to protect, support, and celebrate all of our students, and we at @all4ed.org stand with LAUSD in calling for a safe space for graduation, free of immigration raids and threats.

This week, we remember the little-discussed 1970 police shooting at Jackson State that killed Phillip Gibbs and James Green. Less known than Kent State, but just as tragic. No evidence ever supported police claims that students fired first.
