📍Cork

EPSU is here with our Irish affiliates and @etuc-ces.bsky.social to oppose the proposed 28th company regime.

Workers’ rights, collective bargaining and national labour laws must not be weakened in the name of “simplification”. Europe’s competitiveness cannot come at the expense of workers.

The @ec.europa.eu keeps promoting Business interests

With the omnibus laws it seeks to deregulate and roll back protections of workers, environment, health

And its 28th regime is nothing else as an attempt to undermine social rights and lower taxation for corporations

85 years ago Dutch workers walked out to protest the razzia's, arrests and deportation of Jewish people under the Nazi occupation. #strike which was brutally repressed

The stories of resistance still resonate today as workers continue to show their courage against repression

Today, we remember the courage of those workers.

We honour the role of workers in resisting oppression.

And we reaffirm a simple commitment:
Never again fascism.
Never again persecution.
Always #solidarity.

Black-and-white photo of a large crowd gathered around Amsterdam’s Dockworker statue during a commemorative ceremony, with wreaths at the base and a flag raised beside the monument.

The strike lasted only two days. The reprisals were brutal and deadly.

But its message travelled far beyond 1941:
#Solidarity is stronger than hatred.
Collective action can confront injustice.

That lesson still matters - perhaps now more than ever.

Tram drivers. Municipal workers. Civil servants. Dockers. Shopkeepers. Students.

Public service workers helped bring Amsterdam to a standstill - and the strike spread beyond the city.

At a time of fear and repression, they chose collective action.

We stand with Ukrainian public service workers and unions keeping hospitals, energy, care and communities going under attack.

Peace must be just - and shaped with Ukraine, never over Ukraine.

Commission’s strategy on migration and asylum management undermines fair treatment and human rights standards EPSU warns the EU’s new migration strategy risks human rights, fast-tracks returns, and burdens public workers, undermining fair asylum processes.

#SocialJustice means rights and dignity for everyone - including people seeking safety.

New EU migration plans focus on faster returns and “safe country” lists. That risks undermining the right to asylum and piling even more pressure on frontline public workers.
