I remember seeing this at the NFT in the late '90s. Richard Burton's eyes blown up on a big screen looked bloodshot and pickled from booze!
Fan photo taken by Scott M. Schreiber at Glastonbury 1992. I’m rockin’ a brave all white look. I wore something similar when Felt played there in 1987 too (with Miki and Emma in the audience) and didn’t get a spot of mud on myself either time.
I shook his hand once. He came to see Felt play at the Boston Arms in Tufnell Park in 1987. Lawrence shook his hand twice.
I did a gig with her once.
I seem to remember that Lush's special guests were...Pulp!
Continuing the hard sell - available at all good WH…sorry, TG Jones.
Ah, thank you. I will.
Thank you. I often wondered if she did art therapy there herself.
Congratulations. My mother was a patient in Netherne Hospital.
Uncut have done a 200 Greatest Glam Records special- which I may have had a hand in compiling 😉 - and I have made these two Spotify playlists to go with it : open.spotify.com/playlist/4mZ... and open.spotify.com/playlist/5l4...
BTW first gig - Wizzard at Sutton Granada. April 4th 1974. Sat next to guitarist Rob Davis from Mud. Was starstruck.
I played that gig! I was in the support band Lush. Rage Against The Machine asked us to support. It was like the Springtime For Hitler scene in The Producers.
Being the other guitarist to William in The Jesus And Mary Chain felt like the crew member beamed down to the planet wearing a red shirt.
Also enjoyed the recent Bowieland : Walking In The Footsteps Of David too. A literally well trod - and personal - journey around his old haunts.
Yes, I thought I was totally Bowied out (no fault of his of course) till I saw that - and got it.
Ah, 'All The Young Droids'!
I remember cycling past one of Mood Six at a bus stop.
Also went to the Blue Peter garden when I was on with The Jesus And Mary Chain in 1998.
Best comp I've come across this year. So well put together. Absolute joy.

'All The Young Droids' number one Comp Of The year 2025 in Uncut.
Another spot on end of the year list review. This time from The Vinyl District :
'12. V/A, All the Young Droids: Junkshop Synth Pop 1978–1985 (Night School) ' ..there isn’t a dud track in the bunch. Not even close.'

The first time this was performed on TV was on Lift Off - by songwriter Pete Shelley - as he hadn't found his Alvin yet!
Very proud that All The Young Droids is number 35 in The Wire's Archive Releases Of The Year.
At Tate Britain seeing the Lee Miller exhibition yesterday.
Friday morning fry up.
It was a war zone!
At the T&C in 1991 I saw someone sleep through the You Made Me Realise onslaught. I hate to think what he'd taken.
I see that Eyes Wide Shut has just been reissued by Criterion. During my very short time as a film extra in the late '90s I actually turned down Kubrick - as I was offered the - fnar fnar - very small part of a naked waiter at an orgy in Eyes Wide Shut.
