If there is a refund it will be to the US importer of record who will who have already passed the cost on to their customers in the US. It is possible that the exporting company will have paid the tariff on behalf of the importer and may receive the refund via the importer .

I don't think this is the same as articulated buses which I am quote familiar with. The use of sensors (AI if you like) can ensure the gap between platform and vehicle is considered for all needs. I can understand the argument about the bumpy ride.

Tram-like capacity, no tracks, installed in months. Why aren’t we even trialling this? Imagine these in place of buses on some routes @ciarancuffe.bsky.social

Scorecard
Our Global Traffic Scorecard provides detailed of transportation insights and ranks the world’s most congested cities. View our global traffic scorecard here.
Dublin’s congestion won’t be solved by adding more road space. We need to restore the 2:1 investment ratio in favour of public transport and active travel. Ireland is now the 11th most congested city in the world according to an Inrix study inrix.com/scorecard/?u...

In 1979 there re car parked on both sides of the road, with cars driving on the tramways. Today there are tramways in the middle, cycleways either side and wide footways, with no cars. Two police officers cycle side by side
Ferdinand Bolstraat, Amsterdam in 1979 and today. Not only has car parking been removed but all cars have too, this busy shopping street is now for bikes, pedestrians and trams only

Dublin City to mark 25 years of ‘Car Free Day’ by opening 25 streets for play for a few hours
— A number of streets in D3, D6, D7, D8, D9, and D17 to become ‘Play Streets’. Play Streets are an attempt to bring back play to residential streets — just a glimpse of what…
“...We’ve drifted thoughtlessly into a situation where we’ve prioritised the free passage of private motor vehicles through public space over the rights of people of all ages... Play streets are a small practical demonstration that there are other possible worlds...” irishcycle.com/2025/09/11/d...

If you want safer streets, less pollution, a nicer environment, better public transport, it’s
not enough to say, “yeah that’s a great idea” - you need to register your approval and support.
Otherwise the negative voices will appear to be the majority!

For the first time since 1940 Coventry has a tram on the street... Not only that, we own the intellectual property for the new tech that enables the tracks.

Photo of a replica canon on a Galleon.
A decaying historic building with shabby doors and trees growing through its plaster.
The perfectly recreated galleon “Andalusia” is visiting Cork.
An example of that country’s pride and awareness of her maritime history.
She is moored alongside the historic customs buildings in Cork.
An example of this city’s contempt for its maritime history.
Sold and allowed to rot
Seriously?

We all want to get home quickly, safely, and with a limited amount of yelling at other humans.
