It's just work to me now. What's GREAT about retopo is the foundational knowledge you get about topology. I can low poly box model way easier now that I understand topology and that came from doing sculpting and retopo so much which some find more work but to me box modeling is more difficult.
Mai looks so good, I've seen so many haters on here for her design in SF6, but she looks phenomenal.

Thinking about that workflow is breaking my brain. I've never done it that way. Like, I look at the tail spines and they are nice and even but you just aligned every island manually for that. Madness.
What the hell am I looking at? Am I correct in assuming that these are many many tiny islands stacked on top of each other?
That white highlight is interesting. It's not coming from the direction of the light is it?

RE engine can already do that. You might associate a "look" with it, but it's just a game engine like the others that exist.
Ghost and Goblins Ressurection is RE engine and that is 2D, Kunitsu Gami: Path of the Goddess is RE engine and that looks nothing like Resident Evil or Street fighter
What do you mean technology? I'm pretty sure that you could replicate their art styles back in the N64 era. What technology?
