Please if you're a queer european person or simply a decent human being, sign his petition to help fight LGTB+phobia in EU. Trans people are being persecuted, it ends in a month and in less than a minute you can help people to not lose rights

Take a step back from your own experience and hardships. It's not about you, but about the next generation of academics, many of whom want to lead diverse and inclusive teams. 6/7
"If you belong to a marginalized group, just work twice as hard 'cause it worked for me" amplifies the systemic issues which cause discrimination. Imagine someone has a migration background and a chronic illness, then the person just needs to work 4 times as hard? 4/7
Please don't deny the experience of discrimination or the fact that there are differences of people. I think if you do this, EDI topics are not for you. The differences are not imagined, they do exist. Denial and "you can do it mentality" are outdated ways of addressing these challenges. 3/7

This is Mrs. Florence Bell, the first nurse to go to the Royal Veterinary College of London. This is a cigarette card from my collection and in the info about her on the back it says βthe more she sees of humans, the better she likes animalsβ. 1938.

I'm wandering all over the place but - absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.
If we have reason to believe our behavior has caused or compounded harm, we should evaluate and address that.
Otherwiseβwe do not have to process horror in public, and shouldn't demand that of others.
