I am, however, prone to using religion as a literary or world building device if I feel it necessary. Or taking some parts of it from the one I was raised seeing around me (Christianity) and putting a twist on it.

Here I am years later after that initial baptism, I tried to go to other churches but all of them kept getting worse and worse about the way they saw women as barefooted broodmares, for one thing. Another was the general bigotry towards anyone that wasn't cis, straight, abled, etc.

For me I wasn't really dedicated to a faith to begin with. Even when I did try to get baptized one time in a pentecostal church, I wasn't dedicated to it like the others. It felt more like a reason to get out of the house and maybe be heard than to practice worship to me.
