Even Penny knows itβs time for safe staffing in Naas General Hospital πΎ #SafeStaffingSavesLives
Nurses in Naas held a lunchtime protest today to highlight unsafe staffing in the hospital. Despite repeated efforts to highlight our clinical risk concerns, no substantive action has been taken to address unsafe staffing levels. #safestaffingsaveslives
EDs are under extreme pressure. Short staffing is impacting care, with older, sicker patients facing unacceptable waits. The HSE has confirmed to the INMO all admitted patients on trolleys/chairs/inappropriate spaces must be included in 8am count. We will keep raising this locally & nationally.
Standing in solidarity with @nynurses.bsky.social as they continue their industrial action. Many Irish nurses and midwives have strong ties to New York, having worked or trained alongside the incredible professionals there. You have our full support. #nycnursestrike #safestaffingsaveslives
The INMO has served notice of industrial action on HSE management at Naas General Hospital. INMO members believe the risks being posed to patients due to ongoing understaffing problems have become too significant and that their concerns are not being taken seriously.

As we begin to deal with the aftermath of #StormEowyn, we want to offer our full solidarity and thanks to nurses, midwives, and other frontline workers who are keeping essential health services going. We especially appreciate the support from ESB and local authority workers. π
INMO members in Mullingar are calling out the HSEβs latest staffing plan for what it is - an embargo. Itβs not too late to vote in our safe staffing ballot to send a clear message to the HSE that embargoes hinder staff and patient safety.
Letβs give Bluesky a go. π Weβll be posting about the conditions our members are working in, our daily trolley count, updates for nurses and midwives and so much more.
