"Percussive maintenance" as we like to call it
Gavin Newsom vetoed a 2023 bill that would have stopped the unscrupulous practice of county governments using foster children's benefit checks (e.g. social security survivor benefits) to reimburse themselves.
The bill was sponsored by @ib2real.bsky.social, himself a former foster child.
Kristi Noem has been fired.
It’s long overdue.
She has the blood of Alex Pretti, Keith Porter Jr, Renee Good, and many others on her hands. She and Trump destroyed the lives and communities of millions of people.
This entire Administration has to go.
They didn’t push her out because they wanted to. They fired her because people would not stop demanding it.
Renee Good Should Be Alive Today
Alex Pretti Should Be Alive Today
Keith Porter Jr Should Be Alive Today
Cricket, the dog she murdered, should be alive today.
Kristi Noem should be prosecuted, held accountable, and barred from ever receiving another tax payer check.
There is nothing more American than refusing to bow down to authoritarianism, standing in solidarity with communities who have been targeted, and fighting to protect the foundations of our Democracy.
As evidence, the filing notes a list Mr. Fox compiled of what he called the “craziest” and “other bad” grants, which he planned to highlight on DOGE’s X account. He used three dozen keywords, including “L.G.B.T.Q.,” “BIPOC,” “tribal,” “ethnicity,” “gender,” “equality,” “immigration,” “citizenship” and “melting pot.” (A majority of the two dozen grants deemed “craziest” related to L.G.B.T.Q. subjects.)
In identifying grants to eliminate, DOGE employees also searched for terms like “BIPOC,” “tribal,” “ethnicity,” “gender,” “equality,” “immigration,” “citizenship” and “melting pot.”
"A majority of the two dozen grants deemed “craziest” related to L.G.B.T.Q. subjects."
The prompt was simple: “Does the following relate at all to D.E.I.? Respond factually in less than 120 characters. Begin with ‘Yes’ or ‘No.’” The results were sweeping, and sometimes bizarre. Building improvements at an Indigenous languages archive in Alaska risked “promoting inclusion and diverse perspectives.” Renewal of a longstanding grant to digitize Black newspapers and add them to a historical database was “D.E.I.” So was work on a 40-volume scholarly series on the history of American music.
"The DOGE employees did not appear to question ChatGPT’s judgments, and continued hunting for unacceptable projects."
It was wrong and harmful - and quite possibly unlawful - to cut already approved NEH grants because Donald Trump hates "DEI."
But the way DOGE went about doing it was even dumber than you probably imagined.
They fed abstracts into ChatGPT and demanded an answer in fewer than 120 characters.
Reporter: Did the US bomb an elementary school and kill 175 people?
Trump: Based on what I’ve seen, it was done by Iran.
Reporter: Is that true Mr. Hegseth?
Hegseth: We’re investigating.
Trump: They are very inaccurate with their munitions. It was done by Iran.
our last, best hope for peace
Just to clarify, after writing half of the first and second seasons, I wrote all of seasons three and four and all but one of season five for a total of 92 episodes out of 110, single credit, no writers room, while also showrunning the series. It's not the entirety, but 92 eps equals 10 seasons now.

Outside, Fort Worth cops returned to hassle the court support rally. They even threatened to detain one of the supporters. Neither the stormy weather nor the intimidation will keep us from continuing to support the people fighting for truth and freedom in this courtroom.
Despite all this, the prosecution has not managed to present any evidence to support the wild claims foundational to the case. This was never an ambush by an antifa cell. This was an act of solidarity with our kidnapped neighbors, and a rogue cop's aggressive behavior escalated the situation.
March 6 Trial Update The prosecution has done everything in their power to terrorize these cooperators into compliance. Multiple have broken down on the stand, distraught over betraying their friends and over the threats thrown at them by investigators and jailers. Despite all this, the prosecution has not managed to present any evidence to support the wild claims foundational to the case. This was never an ambush by an antifa cell. This was an act of solidarity with our kidnapped neighbors, and a rogue cop's aggressive behavior escalated the situation. Yesterday, Susan Kent took the stand. Early in the process of identifying other people in the Socialist Rifle Association (SRA), she began crying. Her testimony, like Sikes and Sharp before her, contradicts other cooperators and other parts of the state's story.
March 6 Trial Update She confirmed that not everything discussed at the meeting before the noise demo was taken seriously or followed through on. She also confirmed that Song's comments about not getting arrested were about fleeing a potential arrest, not some ominous threat of planned violence. Even the state's key witnesses cannot back their absurd "ambush" claims. When John Thomas, Song's roommate, took the stand, he left out crucial details about the night of July 4 from his testimony until being cross-examined. In at least three prior interviews with law enforcement, Thomas stated that Song said they pulled the trigger because the officer raised his weapon first. Thomas incriminated others that he claimed helped to transport Song. As local SRA chapter secretary, he gave a list of hundreds of members which included personal details like home addresses.
March 6 Trial Update When the prosecution asked Thomas who were members of antifa, he hesitated and said he couldn't remember. They had to provide him written and verbal reminders of the list in his plea agreement, which came pre-written by the state. On cross, Thomas admitted that no one on the list ever self identified as antifa, and that he had never used the word to describe any of them prior to being arrested. We hope the defendants who have refused to turn on each other know we see them for who they are: loving people steadfast in their commitment to a better world. When the defense laid the groundwork for a self defense argument, the prosecution begged the judge to bar it. When their own witnesses discussed open carry as a deterrent to violence, suppressive fire as a means of defense, or indicated that Song may have shot at the ground, the state panicked, striking some testimony from the record.

I believe time alone pushes past the guard rails. That can be mitigated by how forgetful they can be.
But many can "remember " things now. When I encounter one that can't, as a user I am used to copy pasting a lot to fake it.
So the war’s over???
