She fought for the right for women of color to be drafted as nurses during WWII and continued to persevere in her profession. She helped establish the Booker T. Washington Sanatorium which was the first place to provide care for African-Americans with Tuberculosis.

This GLAM Spotlight shines on Mabel K. Staupers, an African-American female nurse who pioneered change in the industry! 👩🏽‍⚕️

Faced with racial discrimination, Mabel was an advocate for racial adversity in the nursing field. ✊🏾
