screenshot showing two windows. The left one, which is underneath the right one, has 6502 microprocessor assembly language source code. The right window contains the output of an assembler, which now includes the machine code for the instructions in the assembler window.

CGI ? 🤔
(Character Generator Imagery)
Ironically ... there is a diagonal line character in the C1P character set, so that particular image could have been drawn with the standard character set.
I need to draw a big circle or something to show something not possible with the built-in glyphs.

Screen capture of a BASIC program from a vintage computer. There is a diagonal line at the bottom which was drawn on the screen by the program using a programmable character generator.
While the OSI C1P didn't have raster graphics, you can still draw lines with a programmable character generator ☺️

After 40 years, the programmable character generator I designed and built for my OSI C1P computer still works! ☺️

Trying to insert floppies is pointless. You need to spend as long as it takes to get the system performing at its peak before engaging the hard drive.😉

For all the but how can we afford space exploration folks…this means we’ve already spent more on this war that started last week than Cassini cost in the 26 years it took to build, launch, and operate it.

US will not follow 'stupid rules of engagement' in Iran war, says defence secretary Pete Hegseth
YouTube video by The Journal
"No stupid rules of engagement" should be a wake up call for every nation on the planet.
It seems Hegseth thinks the Geneva Convention should be ignored, & the USA can do whatever it pleases without consequence.
The moral high ground has well and truly been lost.

Sorry! I should have explained the TLA (three letter acronym), which is ironic, because in work I hate it when people use them without explanation. They litter the documentation, presentations and meetings and are often not defined.🤦♂️

The way you tell it, you make it sound like it's not hard. I would contend that it's quite the opposite. You shouldn't be so modest. 😉

Let me get this straight ... just an ordinary white wax crayon, on black paper?
And there doesn't appear to be any guide lines or marks, so .. what? You "just drew it"?!?! 😮
That's quite incredible. Would love to watch you drawing the out-of-focus parts to see how it's done.

And we're off! My most favourite telescope, the Vera Rubin Observatory, has turned on its public alert stream and boy, were there a lot of changes in the Universe last night. More coming: ~7 million a night 😮: exploding stars, belching black holes, asteroids cruising through the solar system. 🤗🔭🧪

Truly weird JWST images of a truly weird object: Supernova 1987A
We’ve been studying it for over 35 years and still don’t really understand it
Happy 39th anniversary to an astronomical revolution: the light from the explosion of Supernova 1987A reaching Earth!
Here's what I wrote about JWST observations of this event.

Stellarium graphic showing the Moon near Saturn, Mercury and Venus on the evening of 20 February 2026.
After sunset, around 18:00 UT on 20 February, it might be possible to spot the 11% lit #Moon in a line with Saturn, Mercury and Venus low in the west-southwest. This will be a tricky one too see due to the faintness and low height of the planets. The Moon should be a nice sight though. #Astronomy
