I just want him to TACO asap.
😭
So is Rep McClain saying that ICE is analogous to a lethal virus? 🤔
The history of the US and the Kurds is the football history of Lucy and Charlie Brown.
People who think that’s a good story are evil. Very human of course, but not good.
Oddly enough, I don’t think he has enough of either for that. Much of the time he seems to feel that talking of rules and laws is evidence of insanity.
I hope we all realize that this juxtaposition of “pro” (regardless of what the object is, mind you) and “think” is an oxymoron.
I do hate think tanks that know the answer before they start the research.
Malignant narcissism can’t exist without at least a bit of both.🧐
I have zero doubt. 🤢
Including Trump, though he so far has not been dumb enough to say it out loud.
What’s with the “else” and the “the” in that poast, James? Syntax has semantics, you know.
Eeeewwww! Just send the abstract. I couldn’t take the whole paper.
For the sake of all that is good y’all, just block. Whether this account is a single brain cell with a fanatical belief or a Russian ‘bot, arguing with someone whose claims are based on telepathy and impossible physiology can’t succeed.
Email some senators instead!
There’s no need to reclaim Christianity from the heretics. It’s already on offer from God to anyone who wants it.
We have to reclaim the heretics, but unfortunately they too are endowed with free will.
B R O is a funny way to spell “shitbird”.
A word to the wise (complimentary):
Do not trust electronic devices to record your thought accurately! (Check that first “is” 😳.)
That’s what Ohio is trying to do to me, though.
OK, referring to Wajahat makes it fair.
As for my “doubt”, that’s due to Akiva’s earlier posts about realistic assessments of where the Israeli electorate is. As far as I know, that’s “solidly behind Bibi on issues of national defense”, but I’m open to correction.
participation that I don’t think hold for Israel.
In those senses I think it is fair to say this is not America’s war in the same way that it is Israel’s. Americans neither want nor need it, though they bear responsibility for the consequences of electing one of the men who started it.

- More important to me, the US has no colorable argument that Iran is a serious threat to the homeland,
- let alone existential.
- But Iran is an undeniable threat to Israel, and
- you can color it “existential” with a Sharpie.
There is a strong moral (and political) argument against US

That’s not what I said, nor Akiva.
There are clear similarities between US and Israel:
- Both countries’ leaders ordered the war.
- Both electorates legitimized these leaders via elections.
There are differences, too:
- Supermajority of US voters disapprove of the war, I doubt so for Israelis.

OK, sorry I misunderstood you!
In hindsight, I agree it’s weird, because ISTR there was a minor scandal at the plea deal and it was a sex offense, Epstein was definitely googlable.
But checking every sponsor you don’t know, especially pre-data-broker, would be a lot of effort.
Weren’t you arguing the other day that from a “realist” pov Israeli voters are behind Bibi on his wars? Vs US voters, including many MAGAs, and a few prominent MAGA voices, who are against Trump on this. I don’t see how you can claim that Bibi has gone rogue in this war in the way that Trump has.
You want to criticize the whole lot of us for our “we’re worth it” entitlement, I’m with you on that (we’d be worth it if we weren’t so entitled😉). But from what I’ve seen, this guy seems below median on entitlement and otherwise typical of the breed, in particular as to being sponsor-agnostic.

“Event sponsored by someone”, appropriate to my reputation? Academics do that all the time. There are many of these sponsored parties in disciplines with businesses snooping around looking for high value employees. A relationship with a top professor can pay off for decades.

I’m a recently retired academic, never was famous, and nevertheless I get (less extravagant) solicitations like that a couple times a week. In 2010, even then already never famous, I was getting them once a month. Never once did I google the person in the Jeffrey Epstein role.
That is indeed true. But it is not *America’s* war. American does not face a threat to its national security that justifies such a war. Iran cannot reach the US and it cannot build a nuclear weapon for years.
Iran does present such a threat to Israel. Is it not *Israel’s* war? If not, what is it?
I would guess Iran expected they would be hard to find and destroy, as they were until last summer. So they spent money and industrial capacity elsewhere. They’re a bottleneck because missiles are most effective if you fire them in bunches. Losing a bunch of them means you can fire fewer bunches.
I’m more happy about the “down ballot” part of the declaration.
Not to mention that some of the same folks were around for both the impeachment and the Benghazi testimony.
