Bright magenta graphic highlighting one of Valerie Bolling’s picture books. The title featured on this slide is “The March for Hope” written by Valerie Bolling and illustrated by Monica Mikai. A brief tagline says, “Overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the Women’s March, Hope is unsure of how she fits into the movement. But when she and Mama join a group of Black women protesters, Hope sees herself in them and discovers that one voice, no matter how small, can make powerful change.”

Educators, as you’re planning you’re spring 2026 or 2026-2027 author visits, please think about who you’ve invited to speak in the past and do a little self-reflection regarding who you’ve invited might want to invite in the future.

Gift of the Bear - Casemate IPM Gift of the Bear is a middle-grade novel set in the New England colonies in 1755. This timely and little-known story of our country’s colonial past mirrors...

Capture, deportation, separation-all subjects of Pat Zube's newly released Gift Of The Bear. Today’s injustices seen through the historical lens of the Acadian expulsion from Nova Scotia in 1755. Beautifully written, engaging, and timely.

Hooray! There's nothing quite like the moment you get a brand-new book. What a heart-warming treat on a frigid winter day.

Sharing books is so much fun. So is writing them, but introducing readers to your book baby is the best. Enjoy! This week I have tried to be bold with a MG revision. The progress feels right!✏️

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes
