This is a collection of the monthly frog drawing requests from stream. There is a frog with cat ears and a huge mouth, a frog holding a blanket and a teddy as if they just had a nightmare, a small frog lying face down on the ground, a plate of spaghetti with frogs instead of meatballs, and a very round opossum with little frogs riding on their back.
Please enjoy the utterly confusing set of vibes from our march froggos #frogs etc etc

This is really good news! We almost lost her last week before life-saving treatment.
Her bills are running up on 5k with more incoming. I'm wondering if I would get any traction by opening inexpensive cat commissions to help pay for her continuous treatment. I guess I could always try!

Gray tabby sleeping on a crochet blanket, paws in foreground.
After much testing, we still don't have a clear diagnosis. However, we do have a care plan in place for Ginkgo and it's looking hopeful! If she continues to be responsive to treatment, we may have her for what's looking like months instead of days. π

Image of 9 books covers for books by Helen Whistberry: Roadkill, shows a highway with animal skeletons on it; The Final Voyage of Avery Mothmere, has a black cat playing with an old-fashioned sailing ship; When Your Heart is a Broken Thing, has a white rabbit crying red tears and a red rabbit with skeleton exposed crying blue tears; Once Upon a Wave of Witches, with co-author Eli Belt, has a green kraken tentacle sweeping through turbulent blue waves; The Tail of Nightshade, has a gray mouse among purple nightshade blooms; The Melody of Trees, has a red fox among twining tree branches; The Weird Sisters, has a full moon behind tombstones with a hand visible lying on the ground; The Avenging Angel, has a full moon behind a mansion; The Ghostly Groom, has a full moon behind a tombstone with a black bird on top of it.
World Book Day? I have books, though I don't talk about them as much as I should which means nobody buys them, but if you're into classic mysteries or dark fantasy or hopeful horror or fractured folk tales and enjoy illustrated books, I got 'em!

my hot take of the day: medicare for all should include pet care.
signed: someone who just watched a man break down in tears at the vet because he was struggling to decided whether he should take on the vet costs of the dying stray he brought in.

Our last cat (RIP) hated the vet and turned feral when we took herβ shredded the vet every time. "What's she like at home!?" He'd always ask. "My sweet baby," I'd say, though he didn't believe me.
He was not expecting the stark contrast with Ginkgo, who's good- natured and easy to handle.

Gray taby sleeping curled up, arms out.
Brought our cat Ginkgo home from the vet (more diagnostics) and she felt like she'd been petted a LOT and smelled like she'd been kissed a LOT.
She's been there so frequently lately that the vet techs are excited to see her and even gave her a nickname.
She's very popular.

Maaaan I love animals so much. Controversial idea but maybe we shouldnβt actually destroy nature but protect it instead.

I think it's possible to both celebrate what we're able to accomplish despite chronic physical and/or mental illness while at the same time mourning all that we didn't accomplish because of chronic physical and/or mental illness. Two things can be true at once. Love the struggler not the struggle. π

Gonna take some hours offline. Have to vacuum, take a shower, and there's a new Magica Riot project that's entering revisions.
Your support of my writing is my income, so I appreciate you all. If you've ever wanted a trans-centric extremely gay leftist magical girl universe, I have it for you.

Ginkgo is feeling a lot better today and has been receptive to treatment π (the vet tech swaddled her post-bath lol)

The cat we brought to the ER about a week ago got sick again, so back to the vet we go.
It's cancer. It hasn't even been two months since our last cat died from cancer. I'm still grieving her.
I can't believe we're going through this again so soon. My babies. π

reminder that people in positions of privilege often mistake discomfort with facing the reality of oppression of others as oppression or an attack and if you are a white queer person you are still a WHITE queer person and you are still susceptible to seeing your discomfort as an attack.

This is great. It's something that plagues me a lot. What I want is to share my stories, but with no finances and no promise anyone would read them, where am I? I seem to be writing stories for myself with nowhere else to go.
