גם אם שום דבר לא עוזר אני לא יודע אם זו סיבה טובה מספיק לעשות משהו שבמקרה הטוב הוא כנראה חסר תוחלת. גילוי נאות יש לי לא מעט הסגות בכל מה שקשור לתנועת החרם אבל גם ברמת האסטרטגיה של המחאה משם לדעתי התחיל הציוץ המקורי ספק בעיני אם חרם יביא לתוצאות חיוביות.

אני לא מתכוון שזה יהיה "ובכן, בעצם..." אבל אם יותר לי בתור חוקר תנועות חברתיות אכן מחקרים בתחום מראים שמחאה עימותית דוחפת את היריב לעמדות קיצוניות יותר בכיוון המנוגד. ולמרות שמחאה כזו מצליחה בדרך כלל להביא הישגים בטווח הקצר (ע"ע חרם על ישראל), בטווח הבינוני והארוך ההשלכות שלה הרבה פעמים שליליות.
