Art and culture are beyond “renewable” resources—the more you ‘extract’ , the more there is. We’re here to open this leadership’s eyes to that. Cuts will do nothing but harm the whole province.

0.0006 speeches?!
We’re measuring budget items in speeches now. That bike lane? It’ll cost about 4 speeches.
@globalnews.ca absolutely disgraceful
Dryer repair technician recommendations—do you have them?
My dryer is making a heckuva racket, not sure why (possibly belt or pulley needs replacing) and I’d rather not replace it!

I don’t know who’s managing Richmond Yards, but they seem to be doing an incredible job at filling their spaces with a broad variety of stores and services. I really hope it continues and is successful so that more developments follow suit!

We cut up the trays and make Christmas light reflectors/diffusers for the tree!
Here we go! So I had it just little off, but it's still frigging weird and cringe
Anytime someone with a microphone says "and I just wanna say" it's time to hold on to your butts
New time zone, new round of colourful ballistics!
The Central European diaspora in Halifax must be giddy
The traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks at… 5:40pm.
Ball dropped somewhere, am I right?
Silly house, you shouldn’t be in the middle of the roadway!

Glad “bulk” was in quotation marks because there are two apartment buildings on my block (literally the first place I checked) that aren’t listed.
I also remember the answer being, “well that costs a lot of money,” and being so proud of myself for not absolutely losing it.
When I went to the community meeting about the forum renovation/temporary shelter in the multipurpose room (last summer, maybe?), that was the only suggestion that someone made that I can remember.
A digital rendering of the Halifax Forum’s south west corner with original windows restored
This rendering makes it look like the plan is to restore the windows and move the letters back down to where they used to be
Before my time. Probably the 60s/70s lol
I think if all the windows and details that have been bricked over were restored it wouldn’t look nearly as bad. I also like the idea of sports bros learning to appreciate a little bit of texture and history at a young age.
The 20s, I think. But yeah, I had hoped they’d save the facade of the alehouse and put a new, taller building in/on it.
I didn’t even think to check! Last year’s bill for the same time period was read, this year’s was estimated.
I thought maybe the heat had kicked in way earlier this year or maybe there was an October heat wave I'd forgotten about, but my thermostat says our usage only went up 12%.
Has anyone disputed a NS Power bill? I know rates are going up, but the quoted kWh usage on my last bill was TWICE the same period for last year.

I hover around the cutoff (132 today). It wasn’t until my 45th donation that a nurse told me the relationship between cortisol and hemoglobin. All this time I’d been trying to eat more iron, she said, “try getting a good night’s sleep, too”
A response to a comment on Facebook, reading: Disagree, my home is MY home, an apartment building is technically public housing...I like a private home but someday I may have to go to an apartment,I wish there were more apartments for the people living on the streets in the freezing cold of winter and the sweltering heat of summer , ones that are not classed as "affordable" because they are not but ones that low income families can actually afford.
Facebook comments can be such a rollercoaster. This person switches from arguing that apartments aren't homes, to saying that she might someday have to move to one (by her logic, making her homeless), to hoping more apartments will be built soon—all in one sentence.
The PC party that removed the bridge tolls?
Am I allowed to replace an electrical outlet in my own home? Or do I have to hire someone to do that in Nova Scotia? #halisky #novascotia #electricalcode
