Home | Great School Libraries
Every child deserves a great school library. This three-year campaign aims to raise awareness of the power of school libraries in literacy and inquiry-based learning.
CILIP & 6 partners wrote @ Chancellor welcoming £10m investment in school libraries & offering support from our expert members to max long-term impact, & outlined how support for school/public librarians, & School Library Services could do even more for kids e.g. www.greatschoollibraries.org.uk

Time Tub Travellers and the Silk Thief by Claire Linney
My Black book for today is (and excuse the blowing of one’s own trumpet) my own. Because it won the Readers Choice Award at the Diverse Book Awards last night and I’m still feeling v emotional about it! This explores Black Tudor history through time travel and I’m so bloody proud of it!

An Isle of Wight Literary Festival lanyard, labelled P G Bell School Author
P.G. Bell, as good looking as ever, but this time with the added bonus of a blue newsboy cap (he bought it on impulse, is still in two minds about it, and is trying it out), standing in a school hall in front of a projector screen with his own grinning mug on it.
A view across the Isle of Wight coast, with a sweeping bay leading to undulating white cliffs in the distance. Waves crash on the sandy shore and the sky is a dazzling blue.
A view from the window of the Villa Rothsay, looking across the Solent to England. A ferry is cutting through the steel-grey waters.
I've met some truly lovely children's authors, organisers and - most importantly - young readers at the Isle of Wight Literary Festival. @iowlf.bsky.social
