Certain institutes are worse though, NCI was a payline of 4%... so 13% looks pretty nice right about now!

Had to close my office door and mute my microphone during meetings today... Agree on the lineup too! Crosby news at all? Canadians should get a national holiday when their teams play! Don't get to see tomorrow live, will have to unplug internet and hide phone until we can watch.

Build expertise first: why PhD training must sequence AI use after foundational skill development Generative AI tools have arrived in PhD training environments faster than principled frameworks for their use. The debate has polarized between enthusiasts who argue trainees must adopt AI immediately...

PhD programs worldwide face an urgent question: How should trainees use ChatGPT, Claude & similar tools?

Now online: two resources on thoughtfully integrating generative AI into research training.

RAIN?!? I've got the Birkie this weekend (53 km classic XC ski race). VASA race last weekend was 50km and I'm ready to ski, NOT ready for snow to melt! #birkie

Well you're apparently special! Mine absolutely refuses to link my ORCID iD, it throws an error that there are duplicate accounts, but they can't find said duplicate accounts. Helpdesk was trying to help last week but no luck yet. Also a good chance to practice HTML code to format it. Go 1997!

42 miles of XC skiing meant I needed many coffees to work on the R01 until the wee hours of the morning. BUT somewhere around mile 30 I got a good idea for Aim 3 and had to revise!

Quick trip to Lake Michigan where the sunset was playing with the ice and mist/cloud coming off the water. Further out the ice wasn’t quite visible, but it is out there.

Also it formats to just blocks of text (may be a PC/MAC thing) but if you need to, use HTML to make it look good...
<BR><BR> for a line of space

<i>Text in italics</i>

Sciencv biosketch help... if your personal statement and contributions to science lacks spaces, bold... then you have to use old fashioned HTML code in the text. IE this:

<BR> for a line break, do it twice if you want a line between

Normally after study section I'm all excited about the new stuff I learned... but we just finished and it is depressing. SO many labs will run out of funding this year and we couldn't give them a score that was competitive. These are GOOD labs and the loss of the people will be hard to watch.

As a Canadian south of the border, this looks like a great way to get back home - but I understand the concerns about not supporting existing science. The timing is good in terms of recruiting as funding here is being gutted.

Mammary Alveolar Proliferation and Differentiation During Early Pregnancy is Regulated by E2F5 The E2F transcription factors are well-established cell cycle regulators, but their roles in coordinating proliferation and differentiation remain poorly understood. Here, we investigated the function...

Third preprint from the lab in as many weeks... this time, the loss of transcriptional control of early pregnancy by E2F5 results in alveolar defects. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Need to combine that with the BZ values, the 30 minute predictor does that in the map form for probability.

I’ve got a KP alert based on GPS location too.

Hardest part is the cloudy skies in Michigan! The β€œClear outside” app or website predicts viewing decently well.

So it got cold and clear with good seeing conditions for a few hours last night. The light of the full moon meant I had to shoot with a narrowband filter, and just a quick process shows that 4 hours on the horsehead is coming along nicely. The bright star is the bottom one on Orion’s Belt.

"Scientists" involved here: mynucleus.com/labs/origin They partnered with Steven Hsu and his Genomic Prediction company.
Reminder, Steven Hsu was removed as VP Research at MSU for eugenics. I've seen his presentation of polygenic scores and it was the kind of warm garbage you might think it was.
