Just in case you were in need of one.
I've been doing more small work and more limited color options keep my learning progress going. These used just two colors.
No. 345, 4.5in square, watercolor.

Iβve just started doing larger paintings that require stretching paper, which I accomplish by soaking the paper and stapling to a board with a staple gun. I fought the staples to get them out. How do you manage this without messing up the edge of the paper?

Been wanting to do more still-lifes, so I set up a little station in the basement. Now the weather is starting to improve so maybe I'll take it outside when I can't go paint landscapes outside.
Waterfall studies, 5x7 watercolors, NY Central 300gsm cold-pressed paper.

I've long been intimidated by painting waterfalls, so I did these little studies of a small nearby waterfall on the Wakarusa River. I think they turned out okay - what was I ever worried about?
Carneiro, 11x15 watercolor, Baohong 300gsm rough paper.
From a forgotten town just north of Kanopolis State Park, one of our favorite local getaway spots.

Mutt Run sunrise no.4, 11x15 watercolor.
I pass by this spot at least 5 times a week, usually pretty early in the morning. This one was part of the winter Lawrence Art Guild All Members show.

I set up a little still life station in my studio to broaden my scope beyond landscapes. I do wish I'd done something different with the middle ground (and might yet still!).
Looking for aurora I and II, 6x8 watercolors on cold-pressed paper.
A couple months ago NE Kansas went a little aurora crazy. Struck out this night but the rural Douglas County sky gave me a reason to paint. Still finding it hard to get going again but I'm getting there.

Incredible work, congrats!
Wilson Lake boat II, 15x20 watercolor on Crescent illustration board. My local art supply store got some recently so I tried it. Trying to keep a spirit of play up - felt like my output is slowing because work, sickness, and (gestures broadly).

Their loss-from a painting perspective you are absolutely on fire lately.
A charcoal drawing of a generic figure on brown wrapping paper, seated with head in hands.
I've been practicing gesture drawing of random poses since taking a figure drawing class at the Lawrence Arts Center. Didn't hit me until I was done, but I guess this one hit close to home.
How I felt today, 9x12 compressed charcoal on Amazon box packing paper.

Wilson Lake boat, 11x15 watercolor on Baohong 300gsm rough paper. Just up the hill to the left was a campsite - this fellow had just parked his boat on the shore alongside for an evening visit.

Back at it after a break for the holidays and being sick.
Mutt Run morning #5, 11x15 watercolor, Baohong 300gsm rough paper. Five days a week I pass by this spot, usually closer to sunrise. This was a rare mid-morning encounter.

A watercolor painting, 11 by 15 inches, showing a bright sunny beach day with beach chairs overlooking a short sea wall and the ocean. A boat is hanging from a dock in the distance, and the beach is secluded by a row of sunlit trees in the middleground.
Gran Caribe Belize, 11x15 watercolor, Magnani 1404 300gsm cold pressed paper. It's cold so I was having warm thoughts. We stayed here part of our trip in August. It was very hot and the resort workers were desperately trying to shovel tons of sargassum that had washed in.
