I don't think that's technically possible, but we have tried to get rid of their voting & veto rights via article 7.

Sadly nobody else seems to be on board 😔

The one thing that is clear now is that until these elections have come & gone - Ukraine must hold out against the pressure which now comes from the west as well as the east.

Further inaction against Hungary within the frameworks of NATO and the EU remains just as unjustified as previous inaction.
Whether Orban's campaign strategy of blaming the Ukrainians/Zelensky for everything works or his opposition wins out in the end - we will have to wait and see.

Regardless of that likely reality, however, such actions directly benefit Russia and harm Ukraine.
They are as close to open acts of overt, kinetic aggression as they can possibly be without crossing that threshold.

It is very likely that this is the result of desperation - a last-ditch attempt to remain in power as elections near, the tool used previously to, in effect, buy them is unavailable and the opposition is gaining strength with each day.

The, in effect, hostages were released the same day, but it seems the assets remain confiscated.

Zelensky, for his part, joked that ''perhaps the coordinates of such people should be given to the armed forces.''
Then the Hungarians detained 7 Ukrainian citizens/bank employees engaged in the transfer of assets between Austria and Ukraine.

After this the most recent event took place, in which he threatened to ''reopen the pipeline by force'', though specifying that said ''force'' would likely mean political and economic coercion.

Ukraine has, in effect, refused and so the ''Toad of Hungary'' has attempted to negotiate with with the Croatians, which failed.
He then went to the EU and, beyond blocking the 90bn EUR of aid, demanded the EU force Ukraine's hand.
