A day at a whisky distillery wasnβt a bad way to spend an afternoon (especially with 3 whiskies π)
After 4 years, Iβm officially Dr McDonald!!! I donβt think itβs sunk in yet but I had a great discussion with my examiners this morning during my viva.
What a way to start the Christmas break π
My voice still isnβt fully back after Glasgow Warriorsβ win last night, this might be an issue for my PhD viva on Wednesday πππ
It was some game, I think Iβve finally got my voice back π
Not a bad way to spend the evening since Iβm on a solo work trip down to Newcastle
I can think of worse ways of getting viva prep done π
Multitasking by watching the new Tom Daley knitting show whilst doing viva prep π
Itβs officially blanket weather, love the winter weather π
It wasnβt to be yesterday but still had an amazing day at Murrayfield cheering on Scotland against the All Blacks. The atmosphere was intense, I may have lost my voice for most of the game π
Seeing the Haka is now off my bucket list π
Thoughts with all the people affected and their families with the awful incident on the train in Cambridgeshire.
Thank you to all the emergency services and brave members of the public.
Reminder of the work that people do every day to serve the public.
Anyone who will lie unapologetically about mass violent attacks to push their own profile and political cause is beneath contempt.
Thereβs no need to book such people, to platform them, or to listen to them. Thatβs not because of their politics, or their views: itβs because of their dishonesty.
Wicked is easily my favourite musical, I think Iβve seen the show 6 or 7 times so far π
Iβve just done the same thing, absolutely LOVE Wicked ππ©·
The Israeli military killed 46 Palestinian children overnight.
That's 10 more than the total number of Israeli children killed on 7th October.
Yet there was more outrage over the fictional beheadings of Israeli babies than these 46 kids.
That's easy: because there's no outrage
With all the milestones, how extraordinary this is can get lost!
Last Sunday on the BBC I announced we overtook the Tories at 124k members.
That's +26,000 members in the last week.
Hope is feeling normal again....
a photograph of the interior of a church. Several people are visible sitting in pews. In the pew immediately in front of the photographer, a black human-sized cardboard cutout in the outline of a woman is visible, as though a shadow is sitting in the pew in front of you.
Went to a prayer service tonight at St. Mary of the Lake, where they have cardboard cutouts throughout the church representing parishioners afraid to come to Mass because of ICE.
Fuck these people for being cowards
Get it right up them, what a win
Outstanding work from Comrade McKenna, basically acknowledging that the @scottishgreens.org would make society so much better, but he's not voting for us because we also think war criminals should face consequences.
For a fairer Scotland and to prosecute war criminals π

I finally finished them π made a bit of a pigs ear of some of the details but oh well π
Now I need to decide what Iβm buying next
Iβve reached new levels of geekiness and finally got round to starting to paint the Warhammer models I bought during the summer π
A miserable Sunday night is the perfect time to revisit Middle Earth (the extended edition of course π)
Update: 128,000.
Accept this is slightly wild now.

Decided to treat myself to mark submitting my PhD thesis a few weeks ago π
βmentally iβm hereβ over an image of bag end
Not a bad way to spend a Friday night when thereβs a storm outside (weβve already lost the lights downstairs π)
