Thank you NACS at U Maryland College Park for such a lovely and engaged visit these two days! What a treat to talk about neuroplasticity across species with so many folks! Special thanks to @rachelromeo.bsky.social for hosting me! Truly an incredible program! π₯°
Are you a junior faculty member interested in spending 2-4 weeks at Princeton Psych? Consider applying for our Microsabbatical program! Itβs a fully funded visit for professional development and creating long-term collaborations.

early neuroplasticity mechanisms (w/ EEG, MRI/MRS, or both), sensitive periods that scaffold language, vision, cognitive development (infancy-childhood), & parsing early experiences' influence (dimensions of experiences, caregiver inputs, adverse and buffering/promotional experiences, RCTs).
We have funding to support projects across a variety of datasets. Fellows may pursue any combination of projects to best build their programs of research. Topics of interest within the overarching theme of experience-driven neurodevelopment include but are certainly not limited to:
PINE Lab is hiring up to two postdoctoral fellows to join our community in Boston summer 2026! If you are a senior graduate student interested in doing postdoctoral studies with PINE Lab, please submit an application here: lnkd.in/evTakygw
If neuroscience is serious about building general principles of brain function, cross-species dialogue must become a core organizing principle rather than an afterthought, writes @suthanalab.bsky.social.

Iβm glad we have a day set aside to celebrate women and girls in science. My academic journey is full of women mentors, colleagues, and collaborators. Special shout out to current NU colleagues @laurelgd.bsky.social @briemreid.bsky.social @qzhever.bsky.social @sneuroble.bsky.social π§
π§ Not all brain age algorithms are equal!
In our new study, one algorithm (Pyment) outperformed other models in youth. Algorithms fail when your sample's age range is narrow or mismatched with training data. So, choose wisely...

We've got big plans and exciting opportunities in a supportive science environment in our Institute for Cognitive and Brain Health at Northeastern University, Boston! Please share to help us find this critical new team member! Interested candidates can email me at: l.gabard-durnam@northeastern.edu
π¨Thrilled to share I am able to hire someone (PhD preferred) with coding expertise to work on our HAPPE software for EEG! Knowledge of Matlab, Python, and EEG signal processing required. Enthusiasm for teaching/mentoring, collaboration, and developmental science preferred!
Yay! Can't wait to read! You're a science hero of mine, @lauriebayet.bsky.social, excited for your thoughts and ideas in this piece!
Amidst it all, my toddler said "I love you" back to me for the first time tonight
Yay! Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental Science, Developmental Psychobiology are all receptive!
Thrilled to be part of this really engaging conversation! What a treat!

We are pleased to announce that the first LEVANTE data release is now publicly available!
To access and download the pilot data, follow instructions on researcher.levante-network.org/data. This data release accompanies the preprint linked in the thread.
We're collecting examples of funded F31 and F32 grants in Psych/Neuro that folks are comfortable sharing for a new section of our Resources website, please email me if you'd be willing to share! Small token and eternal gratitude if you do! L.gabard-durnam@northeastern.edu
Great minds, Peter π
Also extraordinarily proud of @emma-margolis.bsky.social who just started her newly funded NIH F31 examining longitudinal, multimodal MR-Spectroscopy and EEG-derived markers of visual neuroplasticity over infancy and their early cognitive sequelae! GO EMMA!
We started this project to better reflect the complexity of lived experiences in development and help explain the wide range of individual differences in adult behavior and health following early adversity. Our data show measuring both promotional and adverse experiences together is key!
The scale takes 5-10 minutes to complete, shows excellent test-retest reliability over 6 months, and explains critical variance in adult mental health over and above dimensions of adverse developmental experiences and SES. Available here! www.plasticityinneurodevelopmentlab.com/pos-dev-retr...
