This woman, US citizen living in Skokie, was detained at Ohare yesterday, taken to Broadview, then transferred to a detention facility in Wisconsin, now released. We know all this not because of DHS, who repeatedly denied that they even had her, but because her phone was pinging in those locations.

Thing that really gets my goat is the way people are eager to fund this bullshit but you need eleven layers of analysis and a ton of collateral if you want to open a small grocery store in a food desert.

I do think this is a far-reaching phenomenon impacting everything from moral laws to traffic laws—when the system isn’t working for people and is actually fucking them over constantly, they rely on small acts of protest against it to retain their dignity, even if those acts are grossly misdirected.
