Asexuals are not excluded from this kind of surveillance risk either (especially JKR and others increasingly target us), we may be coded as F52.0 Hypoactive sexual desire disorder- I suspect I may be myself, my first counselor I saw about a decade ago was skeptical about the concept of asexuality
"Toward a global asexual solidarity beyond identity"
Also my new article with @mcsociology.bsky.social references some studies done outside of the US & UK that may be useful as well! journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

Thank you! And even more important to continue these discussions as well in future research!
While this article addresses the issue of asexuality being absent from queer research, it also engages in conversations about the relationship between asexuality, the state, legibility, immigration, and ace asylum seekers!
I'm excited to share my co-authored journal article, "Who is Queer Enough for Queer Research?: The Issue of Absence Within Queer Research," about the absence of asexuality and queer Muslims in queer research was recently published! π€π©Άπ€π

Distinguishing between sexual and romantic orientations is common in asexual communities... yet there's no research specifically about the split attraction model.
Until now!
I just published a study in Social Currents about split attraction. You can read it here:
