Massive congrats to Hannah the Plumber!!! The Greens first MP in northern England after a stunning byelection win today in the UK π₯³
Hannah was up against a well resourced smear campaign by the UK Labour Party and racist fear-mongering by Reform. This result shows hope & compassion can win π
Time to call time on repeat offender Clarence Colliery - media release

I've been on another fact-finding tour to see the impact large-scale blueberry farming is having on the beautiful mid-north coast. You honestly won't believe where this one is π€―
Ever since the horrific acts of brutality by NSW Police against peaceful protestors on Monday night, Chris Minns has backed their actions. This is very very disturbing. Here's (some of) what I said in Parliament about it.
Well done Cathy Wilcox. Youβve totally nailed what many are thinking about Minns so-called βsocial cohesionβ. Maybe we need another word for it π€
Last night's obscene police violence in Sydney was reminiscent of what we're seeing from Trump's ICE operation in Minnesota. Yet just last week the Upper House passed a motion I moved expressing deep concerns about ICE's operations and the undermining of human rights in the US π€
Shame on the Liberals for wanting Mardi Gras defunded. We need to protect and fund Mardi Gras now more than ever π¦π³οΈβππͺ©
Mass fish kills occur mainly during heatwaves and droughts. They are becoming more frequent as our climate becomes more unstable. That's why we need to be doing much more to safeguard our rivers if they're to support life and livelihoods in the decades ahead.
It's heartbreaking and beyond frustrating to hear that more than 100,000 dead fish - bony bream - have been found washed up on the banks of Lake Menindee. Many more fish may have died, in this fish kill, the 7th major fish kill in the Darling Baaka/Menindee since 2018, and the second in a week.
When it comes to supporting new coal Labor is worse than the National Party was under John Barilaro. The worst bit? They pretend to care about climate.
Western NSW could hit 50Β°C today. Weather records are tumbling across the country.
People, wildlife, livestock are dying. Livelihoods wiped out. Weather related disasters from an unstable climate are making things cost more.
Yet Labor keeps adding fuel to the fire by approving new coal & gas π€―
Calls to kill sharks are rubbish and irresponsible. We need to be listening to and acting on the facts, but instead we've got irresponsible and shameless sensationalism from the likes of Tony Abbott and the Murdoch Media π
At what point will we twig that the inquiry most needed is into the extraordinary power and influence the Zionist Lobby is wielding over Australia's mainstream media and cultural and social institutions?

The Govt likes to tell us that the assessment process for mines and other major projects helps ensure health and environmental impacts are avoided or minimised. But what happens when information about serious impacts are deliberately suppressed? That's what's happening with lead mining in NSW π€¬π€―
As the weather warms up, please help keep our wildlife safe. Place a bowl of water outside and don't forget to include a stick long enough for small reptiles and insects to escape πβοΈ
This!! π You can't claim to care about future generations while selling them out
But in the meantime, this is a win. So a huge thanks to all of you for keeping up the pressure βοΈ
The shutdown needs to be mandatory because the whole point is to give people a break from pokies. Thatβs why weβll keep pushing the government to do more - including implementing a mandatory cashless gambling card.
Exemptions shouldn't exist at all, so it's disappointing that this latest announcement still provides for pubs and clubs to apply to operate during the shutdown hours!
I introduced a Greens bill a few months ago to mandate that all pubs and clubs have to shut their pokies from midnight to 10am, no exception, and yesterday the government met me part way. But it can't stop here.
For more than two decades a legal loophole has allowed more than 670 pubs and clubs with pokies to keep them open at varying times between 4am to 10am despite the law saying they need to be shutdown at this time to reduce harm.
Media release: Greens welcome government move on pokies shutdown loophole but warn 4am is too late

Good morning. No need to worry everyone, the world's best and brightest has everything under control.
But when has the Coalition ever let the facts get in the way of a good story π€·πΌββοΈ
Spot on @cathywilcox.bsky.social. And also that renewables are already far cheaper than coal and gas. Bye bye Libs.
The NSW Upper House just finished a marathon debate on the Workers Comp bill with it finally passing - with amendment - at 5.32am. Iβm so proud of our Greens team and especially @abigailboydmlc.bsky.social who was on her feet all night - hereβs a pic to capture our exhaustion and relief!
Wollongong Council voted against putting the nets back in but they were overruled by Chris Minns who can't stand a bad headline. Now we've heard it cost the Council more than $44k to dispose of the carcass! Who should pay this bill?
