I would opt out, for sure. If it were only for personal use, I would like to download photos and an archive of my posts before doing so. However, my work duties require that I use it. Ugh.

Happy March, all! Has anyone else been locked out of Facebook because they are forcing "Advanced Protection" on them? I would happily leave it altogether, but I must use it for work and for contact with far-flung family and friends.

These are "shock and awe" tactics, which the U.S. has frequently used in other countries. Sure, we are not being literally bombed. No matter. They want us overwhelmed, dissociated, and numb; we will be easier to control. Fuck them. Build diverse connections, fortify community, defend each other.

I love a real winter, with actual cold temps and snow, and walking the dogs out of doors in the pre-dawn darkness. But I am waiting until the sun is up before I walk the dogs. No slipping on ice allowed!
