HOW THEY WORK: You’re typically given a BIN & Group number to provide the pharmacy. Even if a website doesn’t directly request your medical info, once the coupon is processed, your Rx data & medication history are captured (Source: NHI). Keep that in mind re: where your data is flowing.
Trust your personal health information with them over the most prolific liar of the 21st century.
Companies like Amgen, Merck, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Bayer, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Sanofi all offer manufacturer coupons and assistance programs for meds treating cancer, diabetes, arthritis, and more. These programs operate under strict HIPAA compliance with extensive employee training.
For example, the “best pricing you’ll ever see” that Trump is promoting for Wegovy has long been available directly through Wegovy’s website and remains available there today. This applies broadly across the pharmaceutical industry.
Manufacturer coupons, patient assistance programs, and self-pay discounts have always existed directly on drug manufacturer websites and still do. These offers aren’t new despite lies suggesting otherwise.
