Count me among the legions of humans who feel the world is a little less of the best humans have to give without her. I feel gratitude. I feel love. I feel strangely bereft, whether or not I have a right to.
This singular human was more important to me privately, personally, than my parents, to be honest, if by important we might mean something to live for, something to love. I admired her life force, her life choices, her living and being more than any other human on the planet, I think.
I am not much into heroes. The whole concept is a bit suspect to me, in narrative and in life. I lean Le Guin, I suppose. I profoundly understand how leadership qualities in some beings are useful to the group, I just don't think they are more important than other beautiful being qualities.

you can get training on action, security, and first aid. you can share resources and information in small cells that mobilize quickly. you can make art in the face of fuck (info about eyesss, raising funds for legal aid, memes about shitheads.
you can volunteer at immigrant and refugee support organizations, LGBTQ+ organizations, BIPOC organizations, shelter and domestic violence organizations. you can buy kids lunches.
you can join a mutual aid network in your community. you can start collecting supplies with a small group of people to help other people and each other. you can double-down on neighborhood watch groups--redirected toward the new police state and protecting your neighbors and each other.
