Cuteness overload π lovely
#Blueskyart #unison #Sennelier soft pastels on #pastelmatt Just got to put the beech hedge in then the first layer will be on, so messy and hard to use as they're really chunky but great pigments!.
These are very expensive pastels, well for me they are. They keep their colour as long as they're not put in direct sunlight as with any work of art. They have a high pigments, I love them but yes wet wipes a must!.
No but I do use one before the last layer and on the last layer, it doesn't seem to do that much tbh as I layer the pastel probably thicker than I should've but that's because I love intense colours or real colours. I donβt like the muted colours a lot of artists use in landscapes tbh Maria.
Thanks Maria, so much faster results than paint too, lots to do but other than the chaotic mess they're great fun. ππ€£
Beautiful Jason
The beginnings of a view from a beech hedge over looking a playing field to a singular tree in the middle flanked by trees and shrubs around the field. It's pretty rough so far as just the beginning. It's done in Unison and Sennelier soft pastels and very messy.
#blueskyart #womensart #womeninart #pastelart So mayhem ensues. I started, to say pastels are messy would be an understatement, wet wipes are essential. This will be a scene from Alexandra Park from a beech hedge, I use to walk my dog here every day. #unisonpastels #Sennelierpastels
No but I do have wet wipes as they're soft pastels so quite powdery Laurel, plus I donβt want certain colours to blend with others.

Loved this film as a child superb stuff at the time.
I remember this week all thought it was hilarious at the time, great poster.
Thank you for sharing Gabriel π
Thank you just done a rough sketch as its a pastel, made a decision at last!.
Yay! Go Jazz, life's about fun, enjoy xx
Just dive into the colours and enjoy yourself it doesn't have to be perfect just enjoyable π
I have been painting and drawing since I was 5 and am now 64 so lots and lots of practice. This is a good drawing just practice daily or whenever you have a chance, carry a little sketch book and pencil always handy, sketch what you see. Have fun and don't put pressure on yourself.π
Here's a local mallard I did in pastels, he was my first attempt at pastels
Glad to hear it Maria, pretty much been doing the same!. Just having a blip, will try and resolve it tomorrow. π₯°π
I love oils personally but bought a load of pastels, done 10 so far, teaching myself so it's all by chance! Thanks Ian π
Hi Maria ditto!, I haven't either as I have had visitors and been painting a secret painting which I can't show until April. Lost my mojo aswell, racking my brain trying to conjur up a new painting to no avail as of yet!. Hope you're ok and life is treating you well
Thank you Musky π
So sorry to read this Paul having suffered from simular I know how hard it is to resume some sort of normality. I truly hope you have your mojo back and in full swing now. I'm not on here much so have only just seen this. Fabulous work as always. βΊοΈ
Thanks Paul still waiting for an idea to hit, doh!
View of my work desk with my computer, draws of coloured pastel pencils, a tray of soft pastels, my carrycase of soft pastels, wet wipes, a pastel eraser, pencil sharpener and some pastel tools, my pastelmat paper is on my easel so just got to decide what to do....
#Blueskyart so after having a bisitor I can now think about doing a new painting so decided to do a pastel as haven't done many and need to practice more, a Landscape maybe?, not decided yet but trawling my reference photo's for idea's.
Such a beautiful day today Tim
A beautiful sunny day here. Our shi Glenn beach leading to a calm still channel, a few fluffy Simpson clouds and a fabulous blue sky.
A ferris wheel, town houses with the West Hill behind overlooking the almost empty boating lake, you can see the ferris wheel reflection in the water left from the last bout of rain.
A herring gull standing in the rain water in the empty boating lake.
George's Street in the old fishing town of Hastings, shops on either side, people walking up the centre and a beautiful clear blue sky.
#Blueskyart so just finished my secret painting which I can't show until it's gifted in March. Will have a go at my new posca pens for fun next I think. Today we had long awaited sunshine so went for a walk.
