I put entirely too much time and effort into making this a super fun event, so a Giant Pencilβsized thank you to my event volunteers, the prize contributors, and the edibuddies who have helped get the word out about this big event for a little editing org!

This event is separate from the Red Pencil Conference with separate registration. It's also two weeks (plus one day) *before* the conference this year. And it will be recorded so you can play along by video if you can't log in Friday night.
One more time with the rare post as myself sharing a final reminder of my big event: Giant Pencil's PreβRed Pencil Virtual Trivia Night on Friday, 10/24.
I'd still love to see more of you there live (or by video later on), and you have until noon Pacific on Friday to register at bit.ly/GPSPRPVTN.
Donβt make Giant Pencil sad!
I almost never post as myself, so consider this important!
Edibuddies, please sign up for Giant Pencil's Pre-Red Pencil Virtual Trivia Night. I put entirely too much time and effort into making this the most fun, silly event possible and I would love to see more of you there! bit.ly/GPSPRPVTN
I'm getting Giant Pencil's tuxedo ready for the big day and I hope to see more of my editor friends live at the event or via video when it's convenient for you! βοΈ
I've got a great team of volunteers and questions submitted from #EdsGuild2025 presenters this year to help make the trivia even more fun. It'll be recorded for those who can't attend live. And the ticket price benefits Red Pencil scholarships. But you *must register* to attend or get the video.

Friends, this GoFundMe is, unfortunately, legit. Canβt talk about it now, but Iβm sure posts about the absurdity of life are to come. Please share if you can. #EatonFire

Exciting to see so many fellow word-nerds here!
I'm perhaps best known in the editing community as "the #StetPet person." Read about how I started #StetPet in 2017 at blog.editors.ca/staying-conn....
I'm also the events co-coordinator for @editorsteaclub.bsky.social. Reach out if you have questions about the Guild or the ETCβor send me pet pics!
So many new people here, so I'd better re-introduce myself!
I'm a copyeditor & proofreader of mostly nonfiction (magazines, web content, nonprofit materials). I write and edit writing for other editors. I mostly ignore my personal account here to run the @edsguild.bsky.social social media accounts.
Haha, thanks! I'm pretty quiet on here on my personal account, so understandable!
I mostly ignore my personal account here, but could you please add me to Starter Pack 2? Thank you for setting these up!
Yep, I'm the #StetPet person behind the @edsguild.bsky.social accounts. People accidentally call Jen and I by each other's names all the time!
You can add me to the list if you want, @detaileddraft.bsky.social, but I don't post much.
I know you love good hats, so glad you liked this look!
All-hair being wearing a deerstalker cap with a Sherlock Holmes-style fake pipe and glasses. βCousin Itt disguised as Sherlock Holmes.β
I attended most of a Zoom meeting today in character as Cousin Itt wearing a Sherlock Holmes costume because Iβm weird like that. (It was technically a virtual costume party, so why not?!)
Thanks to my mother for making the coolest Addams Family costume ever in the early β90s that is still useful!
Popsicle stick blocking the sun setting behind the trees at a park.
Caught a last gasp of summer this evening when one of those ice cream trucks made from the old-school mail vehicles stopped at the park while we were on a walk. Fudge bar was devoured quickly as the sun set.
Hereβs your reminder that #StetPet is now here on Bluesky every Wednesday. Tag a photo of your animal editorial or writing assistant and Iβll share them in a future post!
Edibuddies, I give you the gift of #StetPet, now on Bluesky!
(And @edsguild.bsky.social is worth a follow for editing events and news in addition to your weekly animal editorial assistants.)

I recently found a highly relevant sign in a chocolate shop in a suburb of Vancouver, BC. I may have purchased extra chocolate bars because of this.
Shout-out to @kellybrenner.bsky.social for sharing a code with me to finally check out this place.
Everyone check out her awesome books!
