Question for my American friends: What happened to the summer of protests? I thought it was a great start, but then...silence. The People power revolution in 1986 was super effective in getting rid of a dictator in the Philippines after less than a week of protest.

It didn't last. But they blame the Notley and the NDP for the downturn for chasing the oil companies away with proper taxation. Had people out there owning Escalades while renting a $3000 / month condo. Now they're too good to take a $25/hr job and blame the immigrants for taking service jobs 🙄
The liberal party doesn't even try in this province and the right has done a bang up job in discrediting the NDP.
I live in maple Maga Alberta. We have a large population of under educated oilfield workers. People who dropped out of high school when the oil patch was booming. Add to that, the influx of disinformation in the media, and we have what we have in Smith. Rural Alberta loves her.
Aside from a (like 2)few people who have had conspiracy theorists past that I know, no one here truly thinks separation is even a thought. I honestly can't believe this "woman" is even in power. No liberal opposition party, and I doubt Nenshi will get the votes in the next provincial election.
