Anything described as ‘exactly the show/movie/book/music we need right now’ I immediately dismiss - unseen - as twee and/or reactionary shit. Realise I’m probably missing out on good stuff but only have time for art that shares/fuels my rage and despair.
Good seeing Richie Havens on BBC4. I was a late convert but there’s no denying his genius.

I read somewhere (here, probably) that that line originally had a pay off in a deleted framing scene set in the 1980s (hence Tears for Fears on the soundtrack).

A genuinely brilliant film with - and this is saying something - one of John Barry’s best scores.
Maybe that’s why the trailers give so much away: like they know no one’s gonna get to see the whole thing.
