I saw this photo, and went back to it a few times, as I was looking at TJ's website yesterday. It is among my favorites from his collection, partly because I have wandered the desert where he took this for many days and have never seen anything quite like it myself.
Thank you for letting me know that you enjoyed these photos, Chris. I appreciate the feedback!
Thanks so much, Christoph!
Ha! Thank you, Alex. It is funny what we nature photographers get excited about. Twigs and snow.
One of my favorites from Brent's new collection of photos. You can see all of the photos here (absolutely worth your time!). brentgoesoutsi.de/2024-southwe...

I haven't been online much but I have been busy creating new photos, including some from winter in Rocky Mountain National Park. You can find an essay about the trip and many more photos here: smallscenes.com/blog/winter-...

Nearly 100% of the time. I canβt get a precise, refined composition with handholding and Iβd prefer to get one correct photo than have to sort through a dozen+ to see which one is best.
Such a great water abstract from Hans. π€―
Brent says below that this might be his favorite photo he has made. It is also my favorite from his portfolio. I just love the mix of plants and trees, along with the soft light and graceful composition.
This is my husband. He likes photographing rocks.π

A beautiful story and a lovely collection of photos!
Good to see you on this platform, Antonio!
This is lovely, Hans. The quiet simplicity is perfect.
Such lovely little green stars!
We were able to see geese take off like this last month. It was so incredible! This is wonderful as an abstract/pattern, Kevin.
Hi Kevin - Thank you for the very kind comment! It is nice to know that my photos are appreciated. π₯°
Thanks! Really cold weather, some plates of glass, and various mixtures of water plus other things. I discuss the camera technique in my blog post.
I like them both! The light is so different that they are hard to compare. I'd consider them both lovely interpretations with a totally different visual effect.
I love the soft light and colors--a perfect complement for the wintery scene.
Oh wow, Jack! That must have been so wild to see from the plane.
What a gorgeous view with such lovely light!
Over the last two winters, I have had some fun with creating ice abstracts in my yard and then photographing them--a little collaboration with nature. Here are a few recent favorites.

Jennifer Renwick and I headed into the dunes after lunch and were there through sunset. It was a clear day yet with all the blowing sand and changing light on the dunes, we were able to find hours of photographic opportunities. I'm glad I didn't let a clear sky in the middle of the day dissuade me.
