Do legislators write their own email newsletters? How do they determine what content to include?
I had the opportunity to chat with former MEP @richardcorbett.bsky.social and learn from a politician's perspective on communicating with constituents.

I wonder though if any possible effect is confounded because the announced policies are still essentially soft Reform.
I look forward to meeting many of you soon in Madrid for EPSA 2025.
In case thatβs helpful to anyone, here are some of my personal Madrid favorites:
May I ask what the paper was? π
Can I ask what specifically you are referring to when you say the richest country in world history? As in the biggest nominal GDP?
Some thoughts on the strategic rationale behind the "Brandmauerβ β the cordon sanitaire vis-Γ -vis the AfD β and the challenges associated with maintaining it. Seems pertinent, given that senior CDU/CSU figures regularly float the idea of ditching it and exploring avenues for closer cooperation.
Just ask the Wallons!
Looks like the CDU is willing to rely on AfD votes to push through new harsh anti-asylum measures next week. They will likely get Lindnerβs FDP votes and Wagenknechtβs BSW as well. A terrible mistake theyβll come to regret.
Iβm sure subtle differences in wording about defense policy (from a party that ran our military into the ground) will matter greatly when theyβre eventually in a coalition with the AfD.
Somebody tell Janine Teagues!!

Just the general weirdness of interacting with Germans!
Yes, thatβs the one. I think itβs not as straightforward, but it can be reached by train. Itβs definitely worth it, but Nuremberg and Munich alone are also great. Plus both cities have loads of history and sights to check out. From Munich you can also go south to the lakes / mountains.
Close to Nuremberg is Rothenburg, which is a small and well-preserved medieval town (probably best example in Germany), with a very pretty Christmas market.
Iβd say fly into Munich or Frankfurt. If Munich, stay and check some of the Christmas markets in town. Get a train from either city to Nuremberg, which is the most famous Christmas market in a medieval setting.
This is fun for those among us who picked a fight with a racist relative over the abundance of DΓΆner vs Bratwurst in small town Germany.

German media have leaked an internal AfD document showing that far-right normalization is a deliberate strategy. Not surprising, but still frustrating because apparently political science research is read by exactly the wrong people while it is largely ignored by mainstream parties.
In months ahead, πͺπΊ leaders need to decide long term strategy to tackle πͺπΊ economic, fiscal, industrial and security challenges
Conventional view is that πͺπΊ is forged in crisis as Monnetβs saying goes
But radical rightβs rise in last decade might seriously complicate πͺπΊβs road to reform
